Review Time
I had an earlier account with this company and everything seemed ok. However I wished to purchase the encryption software for a new computer and I placed an order which was paid using PayPal. However it didn't seem to be processed, so I made a repeat order. Then suddenly both orders at $19.95 each were processed together and I received two receipts. I also realised too late that the software wasn't compatible with my windows version on the new computer. I immediately e-mailed the company who claimed that they had received no orders bearing my e-mail address. I sent copies of the receipts that had gone to the same e-mail address and I never heard back. I have sent three e-mails to them since requesting a refund and they don't reply. On their website it states that enquiries will be answered within 24 hours. I have written a fourth time and they comtinue to ignore my e-mails. I would avoid this company at all costs.
I recently purchased the Lifetime version of USB Security-Enterprise from Kakasoft.According to the company website it can be used on "100 USB Drives."I have used it to protect 3 drives.The last time I unprotected a drive, and then tried to re-protect it, the program said that it could not be re-protected because "the files below are in use." But there was no list of files given, and no other programs were running.I could not remove and reinstall the software on this drive, so I had to copy everything off of it (119 GB) format the drive, then copy everything back. When I tried to re-add the software and protect the drive again I received this message: "Registration failed! The registration key has already been activated the maximum number of times permitted."So I was not able to re-protect my drive by using my registration key again even though it can be used on 100 USB drives.I have contacted them several times via emails, and a contact form on their website, but received no response even though the website says explicitly "We promise to provide you with free and timely customer service within 24 hours."
Tried the trial version with a view to purchasing the full version but having read the reviews have changed my mind and won't go near kakasoft. Trouble is I only get 5 goes on the trial version and there's no way of unlocking it after your 5 goes so you're forced to abandon the USB and everything in it (unless you pay). This is very poor practice. Luckily there is nothing of any value on the USB so I shall just buy a new one which will be much cheaper than upgrading. Very disappointing.
Wrote to them through their contact page over a week ago with questions about my account (I have a pro account). Claimed to provide me with a response within 24 hours... I've decided I can't risk using something of this sort without prompt support. Pity, because I like the way it works.
Folder protector does not work, and Kaka couldn't care less. I wrote the following (below) to them via their contact email, and they brushed me off with a shrug of the shoulders."I use Windows 8.1. I downloaded Folder Protector to give it a try before purchasing. The program protects a folder located in the main folder that contains all my photographs, and, to my surprise, when I used the search box in that open folder (the main folder), the supposedly hidden photographs in the protected folder were displayed too. I did an experiment. I opened the protected folder and, before unlocking the protected file, I did a search and, surprise surprise, the protected photographs were displayed and can be opened, viewed, and copied. What is the point of having an encrypted folder if a simple search will reveal what is in it?"
I am having the same problem others are having: Paid for product. Licence key was accepted when I registered the product, however it remains in trial mode (now expired). Over one week later and no reply or acknowledgment of my emails requesting support...
Do not approach this companyThey block the computer on the pretext that hardware has been replaced while I have not replaced any hardwareAnd now they want money for the openingAnd they don't answer even to take moneySimply shocking customer service!!!!
