Location: KO Storage – Oxford, Maine

I have been dealing with an access issue at my storage unit for almost a month now. The entrance to my unit keeps getting completely blocked by thick ice, making it impossible to safely open the door.

I have tried contacting management multiple times but have not received a response. Today (March 7, 2026) we drove to the Oxford location again to move boxes and the door was still completely frozen shut.

We even tried carefully clearing some of the ice but it is too thick and unsafe to remove without proper equipment.

I am paying monthly for a unit that I cannot access and hope management can address this issue soon so tenants can safely access their storage units.

Unit Access Blocked by Ice for Weeks – No Response from Management

3 Units and worst experience of my…

3 Units and worst experience of my life. Hospitalized at 41 (cardiac) with more stress of harassment than ever needed. 4 years of hell till I could get back after being hit by a drunk driver needing hip replaced. Worst $640-750 monthly of my life. RAT FEECES ON INDOOR UNITS ON MY THINGS WTF DID I SPEND OVER $30,000 on? I could've kept my home what crooks! STAY SO FAR AWAY FIND LOCAL OR GO THROUGH HELL WITH BIG CORP (Raised rent 2 times as soon as they found out I was out of State.)!

Their company has started to show u trustable behavior

They don’t respect long time renters.They over increase pricing use third party insurance billing that they forced after KO storage bought the business from Cheyenne Storage. I have had two difficult marriages and so yep I returned to the facility I thought to be trustable.

Awful Management and Pointless Customer Service

If I could give negative stars, I would. After 2 or 3 months of renting my unit in Tomah they decided to send me a letter that they were upping my rent by $30 for "maintenance" of the facility. Which is a joke and a half. They put an overlock on my unit after a week late. I've contacted them numerous times through email and talking to them on the phone and they continue telling me that there's going to be somebody coming out there to unlock it but it's been 4 weeks since I paid for 2 months of rent and they still have not taken it off. This place is a freaking joke I would NEVER EVER recommend KO Storage.

Horrible

Seriously - You have to call an 800 # with issues. If the call isn’t dropped, they speak little English and tell you one thing and something else happens. Do not expect much from these folks. The office is completely empty, so I hope for your sake they are just remodeling it. I moved my stuff out. I have had storage units for over 20+ years. I have never had it like this.

KO STORAGE IS EXTREMELY HORRIBLE !!!KO Storage here in Tulsa, Oklahoma is “HANDS DOWN” the “WORST STORAGE FACILITY” that you could possibly use in Tulsa!!!😡😡😡They charge “HIGH PRICES” and 95% to 98% of the time you can’t even access your unit(s) because the access gate and or keypad “GENERALLY DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!”😡😡😡I’ve had two (2) storage unit’s there since Saturday May 3, 2025 to now (November 14, 2025) and if I counted how many day’s that “I’VE ACTUALLY BEEN ABLE TO ACCESS BOTH MY UNIT’S” from May to November it wouldn’t even add up to “THIRTY DAY’S (30) TOTAL” for the “ENTIRE TIME” I’ve had those unit’s!!!!😡Whenever I do have access it’s a gamble, I just show up to “SEE IF” the gates working and “IF” it is you have to rush in and get what you can “AT THAT MOMENT” because there’s an extremely great chance you won’t ever be able to access again for another month and the crazy part is that KO Storage will “STIIIIILL” no matter what, charge you a “FULL MONTH’S RENT PLUS LATE FEES” even though you haven’t had access to your unit(s) “FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH!!!!!!”😡😡😡If you end up paying late, “THEY DON’T” take their lock (OVERLOCK) off until they feel like it but will put in their system that they’ve taken it off!!!😡They do this with “THE INTENTION” of basically “FORCING YOU” to keep your unit(s) and having to pay them ridiculous amount’s of “EXTRA MONEY!!!!”😡😡😡😡😡😡😡Other customer’s (Current & Previous) are joining with me to file a class action lawsuit against KO STORAGE, anyone that has had problem’s with them please contact me because our plan’s are to sue them for fraud, return of 90%+ of fees already paid, undue hardship, and various other issues!!!!!😡😡😡😡😡Anyone else wishing to sue KO STORAGE (Tulsa, Oklahoma Location) please contact me via Facebook Messenger and I will give you a number to contact me on. 1 star would be 1 too many at this time. My payments are up to date and now I’m being told that after I made my June payment on the 2nd 2025, that my account has been closed and the storage unit has been moved out of. I have not moved out nor have I spoken to a district manager or any kind of management for that matter. But every time I call that say it is documented that I spoke to DM, and they will send an email to DM , and DM will contact me back. For 4 days now, this is what they tell me then I receive no calls no emails, and can not access my unit to see if my stuff is still there

*** Zero Trust at KO Storage ***Now one would think a 13 year $25,000 customer of this facility would get some respect.They have taken my RETIREMENT from me. In a blink of an eye they will be telling you multiple LIES.First let's just say their math skills are sub-par the very month before they auctioned me off credited me $18.00 when they received $180.00? They * ruin * my life over a simple math mistake? They denied my Harley Davidson was in my locker the size of a semi trailer? They sent me a picture when they were Tresspassing I zoomed in and found it? Right by the back door? Prior to that reception its told me it was impounded and up to me to find it? I called everywhere no luck so I called the POLICE.In my locker was not only collectibles but collection's.I instantly went into a depression for what KO Storage had done to me. Meanwhile they knew of their mistakes and offered me pennies on the dollar.All this with no signed lease during the pandamic.One last thing...the 2 owners do not communicate, at all. If they believe I will just go away their naive I've just begun. If they don't settle it will go viral. My goal then will be several tens of millions know my story with Sam Elliot as narrating. I will also be working on getting laws changed then they will beg to get customers... Thank you for reading...

Do not use this storage facility!

Do not use this storage facility. We moved from NC to OH this spring and needed to store our belongings until we purchased our home. While we were renting and had a large unit packed with almost everything we owned, a cat got into it. A sick cat apparently. When we moved out of the unit and had loaded nearly everything into the moving truck, at the very back of the unit, we discovered a dead, decaying cat that had actually ruined 2 mattresses while decaying. We couldn't (no- wouldn't) put those mattresses among our other belongings and there is not a dumpster at the storage location. So, we took pictures and left the 2 mattresses, the cat, and a blanket we covered up the cat with. I informed the facility of this, and the manager was supposed to call me so we could figure out what to do. I never got the call. I just kept getting payment notifications and then threats about fees and collections. The arrogance and indifference to the fact that our property was destroyed is astounding! We were supposed to be able to trust that the storage unit we rented from them was secure and that our property would be safe from things like stray animals. We'll probably end up having to hire someone to go clean out the unit to avoid the extra fees because of the horrible way I'm being treated. I am so disappointed in this manager as a human being.
