I bought this app specifically for the AI Tutor feature where you could create custom conversations on any topic for 5/10/15 minutes - but it's completely gone now!
The app has multiple critical bugs: incorrect word translations, exercises with translation options mixing several languages together, and broken tasks. These issues make learning frustrating and unreliable.
The app feels very unfinished and unpolished. Worse, developers are removing the best features that made me purchase it in the first place. Can't recommend until these problems are fixed. Requesting a refund.

Lies are not a good place to start

Tried to take them up on the offer of a free trial. There is no free trial, they tried to take money off my credit card although it clearly stated that I would not be charged until the trial ended. Ao sacked them and moved on 🤷

Terrible user interface

I went through one lesson which just gave me a sentence in Italian, then just sat there. No prompting or help. Since then I can't even login! It just goes around in a circle telling me my details are incorrect! Waste of money.

FRAUDULENTThe mic couldn’t pick up what I was saying. I unsubscribed and asked for a refund. of €36. They wrote back that they had unsubscribed me and everything was fine. Then they charged me for a year’s’premium’ subscription €89!!! I emailed them again and they said they could do nothing because refunds were issued only for purchases made through their website !?!?!?! FRAUDULENT Don’t touch this.

Lost Progress, Poor Support & Unsubscribing Nightmare

I signed up for Langotalk with the hope of improving my Japanese writing and speaking skills. Initially, the app was quite motivating, especially with the streak feature that kept me engaged for three months. However, everything changed when the user interface was updated, and to my dismay, all my progress was lost. This was incredibly frustrating and led me to stop using the app altogether.The new interface was not only unappealing but I also felt that the conversations became less natural, which was a significant drawback for me. I found myself disappointed, as I had high expectations for a language-learning app.To make matters worse, I struggled to find any information on how to unsubscribe. I kept reminding myself to do so, but the lack of clear instructions was frustrating. Eventually, I noticed a suspicious withdrawal from my PayPal account, which turned out to be from Langotalk. They failed to notify me about the upcoming renewal of my subscription, which felt deceptive.When I attempted to dispute the charge through PayPal, I discovered that it didn't fall under their warranty. While Langotalk did cancel my membership after the dispute, I was still left with the bill for the year. This experience has shown me that Langotalk is not customer-friendly, and I cannot recommend it to anyone looking to learn a language.If you're considering language learning with AI, I suggest looking into Duck.ai for better privacy and user experience, or exploring other free solutions that are more transparent and user-oriented.

If you’re thinking of signing up for Langotalk, don’t. This app is a textbook example of predatory design — making it as hard as possible to unsubscribe. Unlike any decent service where you can cancel in-app with a single click, Langotalk sends you on a ridiculous scavenger hunt through old emails and obscure payment processors just to stop being billed.This is not a “quirk.” It’s deliberate. It’s shady. And in some places, it’s flat-out illegal. The company clearly values squeezing every last cent out of you over treating users with basic respect.If a business has confidence in its product, it doesn’t have to hide the exit door. Langotalk? They’ve nailed the digital equivalent of locking you in the store and making you beg for the key.Avoid this app at all costs.

Scam, they dont answer, no customer service whatsoever, no place to cancel or stop a trial and even after that

Works brilliantly: for a couple of minutes!

This is potentially a wonderful system, ideal to improve French conversation, but after just a couple of minutes it stalls and has to be restarted. I've tried at various times of day, but it does this repeatedly. I tried accessing the "contact us" system but it needed so much information about me, and had so many hoops to jump through, before I could actually try to contact anyone, I gave up.
