Exeter half marathon was a great event for me. The first great gift was the extension of the time in which to finish to 3 hours 30. I am 73 years old and finished in 3 hours 05 mins. Extending the time limit meant the race was an enjoyable one for me without too much pressure.

Refundable registration not worth it

I paid extra for refundable registration but regret it. I got injured during training and can't attend. I was told to provide a doctor's note for a refund, which is unnecessary for my injury. It's frustrating to deal with this, and the information about these requirements is misleading. Don't waste your time on refundable registration.

The run was enjoyable, but there was no portable toilet as advertised. I had to go into the trees because the queue for the cafe's toilet was too long, causing some participants to miss the start. Organization could be improved.
