Review Time
I spent nearly $2,000 for a small local move, and in return, almost all of my belongings were damaged. They offered me a mere $100 for the broken items and an additional $150 for the time lost. The moving team was the worst I’ve encountered. One of them was on a phone call with an earbud in, they used tape directly on my wooden furniture, and their pace was painfully slow—at one point, I had time to order and eat Uber Eats while they arranged just three boxes. If they lure you in with a lower hourly rate compared to competitors, be warned: they will compensate by extending the move time. As for the condition of your items? Don’t count on it. They managed to puncture or tear nearly every box, including those labeled fragile. Having moved cross-country and internationally multiple times, I’ve never had more than a couple of damaged boxes, so how they caused such destruction is beyond me. They even shattered the solid wood legs of my dining table, which were wrapped securely. My couch, which left my apartment in perfect condition, came back stained and covered in wood chips. Then there’s the storage facility—filthy, with zero security. I could walk in and take items without anyone noticing, and it was just as cold and damp as the November weather outside. If you're named Bill and think your items are safely stored, they’re actually on the wet floor of the loading bay, barely held together by a strip of tape with a sign saying “storage - don’t move,” constantly bumped into by carts and wet containers. Reaching out to customer service is a nightmare. You’ll spend countless hours being shuffled between representatives, filling out forms that no one reads, and they’ll make you feel at fault for expecting your items to arrive intact. They alternate between ignoring your inquiries and bombarding you with calls until your voicemail is full. Perhaps my experience is an exception, but is it worth the risk? Consider how much your belongings and peace of mind mean to you. If it's worth more than $100, I suggest finding another service.
I spent nearly $2k on a small local move, only to have most of my belongings damaged. The compensation offered was $100 for the broken items plus $150 for the time wasted. The movers were unprofessional—one was on a phone call, they used tape directly on my wooden furniture, and their pace was painfully slow. They promised a cheaper hourly rate but made up for it by prolonging the move. My boxes, including those labeled fragile, were torn or punctured, and the solid wood legs of my dining table were shattered despite being wrapped. My couch came back stained and covered in debris. The storage facility was filthy and lacked security; items were left on a damp floor with minimal protection. Customer service was a nightmare, with endless delays and unhelpful representatives. If your belongings matter to you, this isn't the service to choose.
