Review Time
This was my first time using Looka. My favorite feature is everything being in one place... website, logos, merch, email signatures... the list goes on and on. I was able to make my logo and site in one place and as a scrappy entrepreneur... this is huge for me. One major thing i would love for Looka to improve is the AI logo builder... it continues to miss the mark for more complicated and unique logos.
Honestly, the software is bang average anyway, and the website creation is absolutely pants. The logo creation side of the platform is decent, but nothing amazing. The reason why I would avoid this company is the yearly subscription renewal. There's not a way to buy the product and opt out of the renewal, unless you manually change this at a later date. Which means mine renewed, after I'd moved on with my business, and they charged me without the ability to undo the process. After asking if I could, they simply replied - it's not our policy. I'm a bit baffled by that, as forcing people to renew on initial purchase, and then not giving a get out clause is corporate fraud. Trading standards should look into this. Conversation with the Looka rep for context - "We mention twice in our checkout that new purchases of our Brand Kit subscriptions are billed annually.First, when you select the plan with the yearly pricingAnd under the total, where you would confirm the amount you are going to be charged.When you had purchased, you would have been agreeing to the yearly pricing model, acknowledging that you would have been charged automatically until cancellation.I cannot refund your latest renewal as it is outside of our policy due to the charge being from 3 months ago, but I have cancelled your renewals moving forward."
