Even for a paying customer, this is poor service.
They constantly classify certain emails as spam, even when you add the address to your private whitelist. I’ve contacted their support team three times about this, but they refuse to do anything about it. Even emails from my bank are marked as spam — again, the address is in my whitelist — yet they still decide it’s spam, so I have to keep checking my junk folder.
I do not recommend them. They are not reliable.
I'm taking a moment now (Dec 2025) to share my experience with the service after three months of use.
I opted for the ENTRY plan to utilize IMAP clients (using various apps on different devices) and to work offline. The Exchange Activesync feature seemed appealing for quick synchronization, but the reality has been different. The pricing is reasonable, especially with the option for aliases and adequate mail space.
Positive aspects include:
- comprehensive documentation (though not always current)
- a dashboard for service status
- the ability to set different passwords for site access and protocols (enhancing security). However, there are significant drawbacks that raise concerns about reliability!
For instance:
1) Activesync: claimed support for up to version 14, but it never worked for me on Android. My calendar failed to sync despite trying various apps. They attribute the issue to the client, but it feels like their responsibility.
2) Antispam: utterly ineffective. I had to disable it for incoming mail, or everything went to spam. It also affected outgoing emails, blocking legitimate messages with the reasoning that they contained elements flagged as phishing. Their intrusive controls create unnecessary hassle for users.
3) IP blacklisting: I spent hours figuring out service disruptions, only to find my IP blocked due to too many incorrect password attempts. This was not communicated in my account area, forcing me to reach out to support for clarification. Lastly, the support leaves much to be desired. They claim to be real people and cannot respond instantly, but weeks of waiting is excessive.
Should a critical issue arise, the response is often dismissive, echoing sentiments from other reviews. This service is not the affordable option I had hoped for. P.S. Checking my account details unexpectedly triggered a charge for a different plan—quite surprising. :-( P.P.S. Emails can be encrypted end-to-end, but for true privacy, avoid saving your private key on their platform. Will I renew? Hmmmm.
I recently purchased an account and faced difficulties connecting it with EM Client and Pop Peeper. The support team requested my IP address, which I provided, but I didn't receive any further communication. After trying again to integrate my email with EM Client and Pop Peeper, it worked flawlessly this time. I assume they resolved my IP issue without informing me. Overall, I'm pleased with the service so far.
I recently purchased an account but faced challenges connecting it with my email client. The support team requested my IP address, which I provided, but I didn't receive a follow-up. After attempting to integrate my account again, it worked seamlessly this time. I suspect they resolved my IP issue without informing me. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the service so far.
For seven years, I've been a dedicated paying customer and am thoroughly pleased with the service. I've explored various privacy-focused options but continue to choose this one. Throughout this time, I've faced minimal issues, aside from a somewhat aggressive anti-spam filter, which can be managed via whitelisting and deactivation options. I value the reliability, support for open protocols, and excellent customer service. I've recommended this service to friends and family, and they've all been satisfied, whether they use free or paid options. Keep up the great work!
Initially, I was frustrated when I encountered an issue with sending emails with ZIP attachments, as I really value this privacy-focused service. The root cause was found to be a strict rule on their SMTP servers. There were some communication gaps that added to my frustration. However, the support team identified and resolved the issue recently. I'm updating my rating to 4 stars: everything is functioning correctly now, but I deduct one star for the initial communication troubles.
