Mercor is a great company to work for! It's techincal demanding and your well compensated for that. Almost 6000 people on the contract I was on. Slack was very organized with several weekly office hours to onboard new people and get everyone up to speed quickly, Paid training with everything needed on google drive. Was a great experience. Learned a lot. Contract was too short! Waiting on the next one!
I was interviewed by AI, which was a unique experience. I have worked as a senior expert on the MEGA project as a freelancer. I completed onboarding, passed the quiz, and completed the entrance task called sandbox. I went on to provide tasks. The system is correct, and payments are regular, but some reviewers can be distressing and unreasonable. I enjoyed working with them, and their feedback was great.
My experience with Mercor has been exceptional. I have been participating in Mercor projects since July 2024, and the projects I joined were among the initial AI training initiatives undertaken by the company. From the outset, the work has been well organized, technically meaningful, and supported by smooth, clearly designed workflows. The project leads are consistently helpful, responsive, and encouraging, creating a professional and supportive collaboration environment. The compensation is strong and well above average on an hourly basis, clearly reflecting the effort and expertise required, which makes the overall engagement highly motivating. I continue to participate in multiple projects and genuinely enjoy being invited to new Mercor initiatives, as the work remains engaging and exciting.
I have had the pleasure of working on several Mercor projects, and my experience has been outstanding. The projects are well-organized, and the guidance provided by the team is clear and supportive. I was able to apply my expertise in content creation, transcription refinement, and quality review, while also learning new skills in AI and LLM training.
Communication with the team was smooth, and feedback was always constructive, helping me improve my work continuously. Deadlines are reasonable, and the platform is user-friendly, making it easy to manage tasks efficiently.
The only area for improvement would be the response time regarding evaluations of assignments and project access. A faster and more responsive communication in this regard would make the experience even better.

Mercor should NOT be used under any circumstances which with employment for legal research work -- particularly citations. Mercor is an AI system which is not qualified to support legal research because of the hallucinations produced by its system. AI NEEDS to give everyone and anyone a solution or answer and unfortunately, at least 50%, if not more, of its legal citations are bogus. BE AWARE of the fines courts have imposed and the referrals to the State Bars because judges do get very upset with bogus citations.
These temporary positions offer great pay in professional sectors. The work is engaging and provides valuable experience for learning and adapting in a rapidly evolving job market increasingly influenced by AI. The support team is very accommodating and pleasant to collaborate with.

Over the past two years, I've engaged with various data annotation and AI training platforms, focusing mainly on computer science, programming, and data science projects. While many of these platforms have been disappointing, my experience with this service has been refreshing from the very beginning. Unlike the typical outdated IQ tests or simple resume screenings, this service implements a genuine interview process. Some users have mentioned that the interview is conducted by AI, but I believe this approach is fair, allowing thousands of candidates to participate while providing everyone a real opportunity. The interview is concise, concentrating on fundamental aspects of your resume. You even have the option to skip questions or select different roles or experiences to discuss, adding a surprising level of flexibility. Once you clear the initial interview, you can apply for various positions. Each role might involve additional specialized interviews or skill-based roleplay sessions, which are standardized. Common interviews are categorized as Core and only need to be completed once, applying to future roles. I have finished 10 Core interviews so far and intend to complete two more. With these 10, I’ve been able to apply for over 50 positions, and completing the last two should unlock about 10 additional opportunities. There are also projects that require extended skill assessments, which are compensated. For instance, I completed an assessment that lasted about three hours, and even though I wasn’t selected for the project, I received $320 for my time. If you are adaptable, you might also get instant opportunities when projects urgently need skilled individuals. I experienced this early on a weekend when they required last-minute assistance. I worked for 10 hours, earning $1,000, along with an extra bonus for my quick response. Additionally, I've received bonuses ranging from $100 to $250 simply for being available and checking my email when help was needed. Moreover, the training sessions tend to be shorter and better organized compared to other platforms, and the support staff is incredibly responsive, actively monitoring communication channels at all hours. To be fair, there have been a few projects where communication or training could have been better. In my experience, these instances typically occurred with lower-paying projects that had fewer managers involved. This seems more like a supplier trying to cut costs rather than an issue with the service itself. I highly recommend this platform over other AI training and data annotation options I have encountered.
There is plenty of work here...a wonderful chance for those seeking a role that is both fulfilling and valuable for their resume. The pay is also quite good. However, responsiveness could improve a bit.
Overall, it's been fantastic! The initial learning curve is steep, but once you grasp the workflow, everything improves significantly. The colleagues are wonderful, the work is engaging, the compensation is outstanding, and the hours are adaptable. I couldn't wish for more than this.
