A Decade of Positive Experience with My Landlord

I have been a tenant with the company for about ten years. Whenever I've requested repairs, they have been addressed promptly and to a high standard. Every call has been answered quickly, and all my queries have been resolved efficiently. My home is well-maintained, and I've had a new kitchen, bathroom, and downstairs toilet completed in the last couple of years. I have found the company to be a compassionate and understanding landlord throughout my time here. Participating in customer experience panels and focus groups allows tenants to have a voice, which is also very beneficial. I can't find any faults with them :)

Better off without a roof over your head than dealing with this landlord.

This landlord is the worst. The out-of-hours repair service is a joke. I have been left without a functioning toilet for 24 hours, which is unbearable. I even had to turn off the water to the bathroom.

The worst landlord experience.

This is the worst landlord service. If you encounter any issues with neighbors, they show no concern. The office staff seem more interested in chatting and laughing than doing their jobs; they should be let go. I have reached out multiple times regarding various problems, but they are completely uninterested. They are the worst landlords I have ever dealt with.

Disappointing conditions for students in Leeds.

MHS Lettings in Leeds has provided a property for my daughter and her friends that is uninhabitable. They were excited to move in, but upon arrival, the place was in terrible condition—infested with woodworm, snails, rising damp, and mold, along with dust and dirt everywhere. The smell of damp is overwhelming, and there are no dustbins outside. The smoke alarms are old and dirty, and one of the ovens in the gas cooker is broken. A freezer is abandoned in the garden, and an old toilet is left in the hallway. Half of the electrical outlets do not work. The property is nothing like what they viewed earlier in the year. It seems the issues were hidden during the viewing. I am very upset about this situation. They couldn't even be bothered to clean it properly. My daughter and her friends are scared to move in due to the conditions. The landlord has promised to rectify everything by the end of July, and I will give them a chance before I contact the local environmental health department if repairs are not made. As for MHS Lettings, shame on them.

Unprofessional behavior from staff.

A member of the service was using a leaf blower and carelessly blew dirt and dust into my eyes, then continued working as if nothing had happened.

The worst living experience in my life.

This has been the worst living situation I have encountered in my 38 years. I ended up in the hospital with a permanent medical condition because they refused to fix a simple door that woke me up multiple times at night. The only response I received was an apathetic 'sorry, it's frustrating for you, but we can't fix a door.' They could easily repair it; it's not a complex task, yet for them, it seems monumental. I ended up in emergency care due to sleep deprivation caused by living above that door. It's not unreasonable to ask for basic repairs, especially when my health is at stake, but they seem indifferent. Please avoid any dealings with this service, as they will let you down without regard for your well-being.

Praise for the caretaker.

I want to express my appreciation for the caretaker who maintains Chatham Grove. It's always a delight to return home from work on Fridays to find the place immaculate after his visit. It’s unfortunate that it looks neglected again by Saturday. He clearly takes pride in his work and deserves recognition for it. Thank you, caretaker.

Quick resolution for water issue.

I contacted the service on a Saturday evening regarding a water problem. The representative was efficient and resolved the issue promptly. They were polite and professional.
