Review Time
My experience with national motoring lawyers was a great experience I was in a bad situation and they solved it for me I will be honest and say there communication is not the best most of time I would only get emails for invoices but every time I went to court they would send me a summary of what happened but overall they did there job and I managed to keep my licence and win in what was a hopeless case. I would like to say a big thanks to PAUL LUCAS & DAVID HOULDCROFT they equally allowed me to keep my licence. My advice to anyone in a similar situation to meWhich was drunk driving and a case the was hopeless I would advise that if you have the money to pay for a solicitor then do so but when it seems expensive you need to be able to see it through to the end and have faith in those barristers that I have mentioned.
I recently sought the services of National Motoring Lawyers for a legal matter, and I regret to say that the entire experience was an absolute nightmare. I would strongly caution anyone against using their services. Throughout the entire process, I encountered a multitude of issues that left me not only frustrated but also deeply dissatisfied. To begin with, I explicitly communicated to Ms. Laura Heywood via email and phone conversation on 23/04/2023 that I was paying £165 for the CCTV footage, which was crucial in determining the viability of my case. However, despite my clear instructions, I found myself continuously chasing National Motoring Lawyers for the footage. They claimed to have written to the police and were awaiting a response, but as the days drew closer to my hearing on 27/06/2023, I had received no such footage. Consequently, I made the difficult decision to represent myself and plead guilty. Astonishingly, the lawyers then informed me that I had an outstanding balance of £495, as if their sole focus was extracting more money from me. To add insult to injury, today I received a letter from a debt recovery company, Debtco One Ltd acting on behalf of National Motoring Lawyers demanding payment of £810.75 within five days.To put it succinctly, National Motoring Lawyers failed to provide the CCTV footage that I had paid £165 for. I felt deceived from the very beginning, and I was forced to act swiftly and plead guilty on my own accord. It became apparent that their primary concern was to keep me subscribed to their services, leading to a costly trial where the outcome would likely still be a guilty plea. Their actions reeked of greed and a complete disregard for their clients' financial well-being.I am now taking the necessary steps to report National Motoring Lawyers to the Legal Ombudsman, as well as to all available platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and search engines. It is essential for others to be aware of my horrendous experience with this firm.In conclusion, my encounter with National Motoring Lawyers can only be described as a complete nightmare. I strongly urge anyone considering their services to think twice. Spare yourself the headache and seek out a solicitor who genuinely cares about their clients, while also demonstrating competence and professionalism. It is perplexing to me how they have managed to accumulate positive reviews, as I have spoken with another former client who shared a similar unfortunate experience. Trust me when I say that you will thank yourself later if you choose to avoid National Motoring Lawyers altogether.
Was so worried about keep paying out money just seemed endless.but so glad I did I got a fantastic solicitor David houldroft and his wife . really put my mind at rest about nml they do a lot of work on your case I suppose because you don't get any letters from them it's a worry but they always got back to me on the phone I won my trial thanks to David he was absolutely on top of everything a great solicitor honestly I was so lucky to get him for my trial .yes it's a lot of money but put your trust in them you want be disappointed thankyou David so much regards Tracey x
NML know what they are doing. They were very clear about possible defence arguments, next steps in building a case, clear about prosecution arguments. Although it feels like money is often being asked for, the outcome was perfect (case dismissed 2 days before trial). My case was unusual in that it has gone on for almost 2 years. I can’t express the relief now that it is over and with a positive outcome.
If you can get David Houldcroft to represent you in court through NML, you should. I found him to be professional, experienced, compassionate and willing to do what was necessary to obtain the best outcome for me and my circumstances. If you’re worried about attending court for the first time, I can promise you that David Houldcroft, for one, will meet with you in court and help you understand the legal ramifications and work out the best outcome to suit your needs. Not cheap, but certainly worth it. Thanks.
Pleaded guilty. May come across strange as I am writing a review on a guilty plea for a organisation that works on defending a not guilty plea. I failed to supply breath at station, I had many of factors working in my favour to defend the case and get it thrown out which Gary highlighted to me but I simply couldn’t afford to move forward. Had jay lamosa turn up in court. I was looking at a 2 year ban and a heavy fine. He took notes and worked with the prosecution and came back to me saying they are lowering the ban and fine. In the court jay was knowledgeable in this area highlighting to the bench the law on this topic which the bench did not know the answers but jay did. He is a man that specialises in this are along with the firm. If I could have tried to defend it I would have but couldn’t afford it. So glad I payed for this firm at a price where I’ll be back on the road in 9months, which failing to provide breath is quite difficult to get. Happy with service of firm, got the result I was wanting.12 month ban with course to take off 13 weeks £600 fine which I pay 50 month to court. In summary; don’t just turn up to court and accept what they will throw at you, get the right people involved and even if times are difficult the firm will assist in all ways possible. Thanks all MS
Written on behalf of my partner: "I highly recommend David Houldcroft representing Laywer who has a vast amount of experience and expertise dealing with motoring offences! He worked hard on my case and prevented me from recieving a disqualification; which am so grateful for. David was excellent at representing me, providing sound advise on my case and leaving no stone unturned given clear mistakes and unjust treatment I suffered from the police and CPS. David successfully managed to get the CPS to drop the urine drink driving which the police had obtained incorrectly. Instead I pleaded guilty to careless driving with 4 points and a fine, but thanks to David it means I do no lose my licence"
Instructed this firm and initially spoke to a qualified solicitor. We then had invoice after invoice with zero contact. The solicitor was changed without request, and more money was charged. Didn't know which plea to make or even what to expect on the day. The admin center were woeful, they couldn't be bothered to send basic prepack information about the day of the trial despite many calls and emails. The evening before the hearing after several weeks of chasing, there was a brief call with options. Then on the date of the hearing, the solicitor didn't know what was going on, and mitigation entered just wasn't of a standard you would expect from a solicitor. The length of the ban and fine was exactly the same as being unrepresented. The days following the hearing, additional invoices demanding more unknown payments within 7 days were made. Importantly the statement sent, with what was paid so far, fraudulently did not include a payments already sent, which was more than the "outstanding" balance. They also say if you don't enter a not guilty plea, you need to pay more. However they won't give any advice until the day of the hearing so you know how to plea, leaving you open to more invoices that aren't confirmed at the outset. I doubt they even requested evidence from the police that they say they will. The reviews of this firm, also called drink driving solicitors, are fake. I ignored the bad reviews because there were so many good ones. Don't make the same mistake. There are genuine firms to use, this isn't one of them.
I was facing a driving ban and possible Community Order but between David Houldcroft, Nicki and Sandra Cooper I ended up with points and a fine which meant keeping the use of my licence and car for work. This team are magic and I am so happy I went to NML for assistance with this matter. Given the circumstances this was by far the most positive possible outcome and I am so grateful to them. For those doubters this is a very real review from a very real person.
