OneDrive has been a hassle for me, as when I got my computer it was set up in a bad way by default I was not aware of. It tried to back up like my whole computer, so it instantly became full. I guess it worked decently, just having the occasional OneDrive isn't working error messages -> get more space here. But then now I tried disabling it by clearing out some space. I clicked unlink this account on my computer. I've tried deinstalling it too, but it didn't really help. Why is it so hard to get rid of the software from my computer? Now some of my steam games are broken since it tried to back up lots of files that I don't even want it to back up. I don't understand how it works and there are no clear instructions for how to fix my problems other than upgrading and paying for something I don't even use.
Microsoft OneDrive is difficult and tedious to use. EXTREMELY unreliable. Does not keep same folder/file organization as uploaded folder/files. Does not recognize duplicates. Will not upload files/folders/photos from my Samsung phone. "Failed to Fetch" message appears frequently, and nothing will display and buttons non-operational. If you're looking for a safe, reliable cloud backup that you know will be there from day to day, OneDrive isn't it by a long shot. Not even as an included "service" of Office 365.
I transferred some very important files to the Personal Vault, supposedly the most secure part of OneDrive. When I came to retrieve the data, all the directories were intact, but the files within them were gone.It was easy to use, but reliability is THE most important factor in data storage. Without that it is worthless. Support could not retrieve anything. If you do use it, copy the data to an additional storage device like a USB drive. But in that case, why bother with OneDrive?
This online software is so tedious to use. PowerPoint slideshows show as completely black screens and when editing text, what you see on screen is not what you get when you click away. I find it so unreliable that I have to download presentations before I can even think about using them. And they think that this justifies the high price?
I had all my mothers pictures and videos from years back stored on a OneDrive account I made for her. Now the account does not exist anymore and there is no way to reach support; their number has been shut down and no email to be found anywhere. Please, whatever you do NEVER use OneDrive as a cloud service. You risk loosing a lifetime of memories with no way of getting help. I can´t find words.
I completely concur with Jacob Charles review. I too have spent nearly a year to try to get the support team to understand my issue of lost files and photos. It has impacted a business, which I since had to shut down. I have lost years worth of files carefully stored in my own file structure. The folders are now empty and I am unable to restore the data as it was created using a business/school account. Today, I had another attempt with support. Explained in detail my issue, and then then the call went dead. Extremely disappointing since I have paid the full subscription fee each year and have no way to store my files safely, undisturbed and unzipped. Almost given up. All I wanted was a restore of data. I do not recommend this product and will try to move forward using a separate drive to store my data. Its a disgrace.
Worst product experience ever in all honesty.Use another cloud service or risk syncing problems, slow syncing, lost files, lack of compatible storage (with Samsung Gallery) and wasted time.I'm genuinely furious and upset by the whole experience because it ruined the progression of my business - I also lost sentimental photos that are irreplaceable, I also will not be able to locate them as they are random select photos that went missing from random folders from different dates??? I wouldn't even know where to start as you guys want me to name them or tell me which ones are missing? Crazy right. \/I used to sell Office 365 and I am digitally literate so this is not user error.I've LOST media files never to be returned, I've spent multiple hours (over the past 9 months) trying to sync up Samsung Gallery with OneDrive and neither Samsung or Microsoft resolved my issues blaming it on the other. All I did with customer support is try to explain my issues which was extremely difficult to get across and they never understood or resolved. In the end I counted my losses, backed up what I could, cleared all the files and started from fresh only left with the following unsolvable problems: 1. Samsung Gallery doesn't have the storage capacity that OneDrive does, only the storage capacity of my phone so it will not sync my media in full (how is that a cloud service I can use?)2. OneDrive cannot sync the albums on my phone, only camera roll, if I want albums I have to recreate on OneDrive3. Syncing a photo can take anywhere from 1 hour to 1 day4. Once a week my Microsoft Account will simply disconnect from my Samsung Account and stop automatically syncing.
The most secure service in the world. I have been using Onedrive for almost two years, I never had a problem with it, I uploaded a lot of files, videos, photos and documents, it always works fine. I have 3 Microsoft 365 family plans, each plan is only $10 per month, with 6TB to share up to 6 users, each user has their 1TB storage. including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Defender, Outlook, OneNote, Clipchamp, Microsoft Family Safety. It has good chat services and remote services to fix any problem. Thank you for your beautiful service.
