They charged me $190.95 for passport service ($135), transaction fee $16, and passport protection $39.95. All of these could be done for FREE at travel.state.gov. When I arrived one of the passport processing center, I was informed that this is a common passport SCAM!!! I had to pay an additional $130 for passport fee and $41 for processing fee.

I was looking to see if I could apply for a passport online, and Gov+ arrived, which I thought might be a .gov website. However, it was not. It then led me to a link for Passport Submission, which I thought was charging me for the cost of submitting a passport for $190.95. Once I paid it, Gov+ then asked for $97 & then $22 - all within 20 minutes on 1/12/2026 from 12:18AM-12:36AM. Yet Gov+ photo capture for passport photos is non-sensical. I got on the phone with them and they refunded within 2 days on 1/14. However PassportSubmission.US is a scam. They took $190.95 from me, then when I called a female employee told me that their accounting department is emailing me a refund request that still has yet to arrive. I have emailed them more than several times at support at passportsubmission.us to no avail, as well as tried them on their PHONE: +1 (888) 846-3983 from9 AM - 5 PM EST also to no avail. I have even written to them on their website's contact us. I have never received anything or any type of assistance in terms of anything from them, despite the several emails I sent them directly or the phone calls I made only to be able to leave voicemails. If PassportSubmission.US finally reimburses me the full $190.95 that they did nothing more than falsely advertise that they can help, yet did nothing, I'll remove this complaint & just never deal with them again.
Scam company! Terrible customer service! And Deceptive marketing.. nowhere on the home page or passport application page, or at any point between the initiation of the application to the completion of the payment process does the website clearly display, disclose or reveal that the “service” you are paying for is “assistance” with your passport application PAPERWORK, they do not disclose at any point in clear plane English, that that is the service you are paying for. They only state they are not directly affiliated with the official government entities, and say “our team ensures your paperwork is complete and correctly submitted" inferring, nay ensuring; the service they offer is to complete your paperwork and correctly submit it. On your behalf! That is not the Case. All they do is prepare your paperwork. You still have to do the application process with the official state.gov website and pay them. These people charge MORE than the application fee from the direct website by $60.
Beware…deceptive marketing makes you think you’re submitting to get an online passport, but you’re really giving them all your personal information (including social security number) and paying for the exposure of all your data to a slimy company. I stupidly fell for their scam and when I contacted them to cancel they said “No, you’ve already gotten the product you were charged for and it can’t be returned.” Fortunately, my credit card company saw it my way and refunded my fee (almost US$190…I know…I was an idiot), AND they still have my personal information. I have locked down all my credit service accounts.
I lost my passport and fell victim to a scam by purchasing a service that I never received. I contacted the company, but they refuse to issue a refund. I have filed a dispute with my bank, but the business has not responded to my bank either.
