Scam - sign up for £1.99 1 week limited trial with no mention of £49.99 monthly subscription. Customer service will not help you, and will also make it impossible to cancel as there is no subscription in your account. They are just relying on people not checking their bills for months and could potentially take £100s or £1000s from you.
The apparent subscription is mentioned in some terms and conditions, very dishonest. The product they provide itself is average at best.
Avoid at all costs.
barely worked, onyl can do proper PDF files, not great with scanned documents. Also dont forget to cancel trial, otherwise you wont be getting a refund until you notice you charged for a service you used once and cancelled but apperantly not cancelled
I used PDF Smart only once to convert a single file, for which I paid £1. However, shortly after, I discovered that I had been charged £50 for a subscription that I was not clearly aware of.
The subscription terms were not presented in a clear or transparent way. Important information about ongoing charges was placed in a way that felt hidden or easy to miss, which is very misleading for users who just want a one-time service.
When I noticed the pending charge, I immediately tried to cancel the subscription, but it was difficult to find where to do so. I contacted their support team via email as soon as possible, but unfortunately, they refused to issue a refund, not my fault it is a delay in their response.
Overall, this was a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this service due to the lack of transparency and poor customer support. Be very careful when using this platform, as what թվում like a simple £1 service can quickly turn into an expensive subscription.
Automatic subscription almost £50 per month no option to refund even if not used. I didn't see this notification on website. Poor quality pdf conversion on the one occasion I used -thinking there was just a one off cost of £1.99. Do not use.
Scammers charged me £1 for a one off payment, then charged me 49.99 after 7 days, for what...? Signing one document... Very misleading didn't say anything about being £49.99 thereafter, will be contacting my bank as this is fraud, also will be making a complaint, they can't get away with it....
Paid for one off use and found out I had been charged £49.99 for a subscription that I absolutely did not agree to. Do not use! I have messaged but received no response. I have cancelled subscription, time will tell if they try and take again.
Be aware!!!!
Used this service to merge 1 pdf file, paid 1euro for that (and received a receipt )
Service is fast and easy BUT:
In 7 days was charged 49.99 euro.
No information about monthly subscription sent to email.
No clear information that 1 euro is just a trial and you need to pay 49.99 after 7 days
No conformation send to email that by paying 1euro you sign up for automatic monthly payment for 49.99 euro
No receipt or email after they charge you 49.99 euro.
I consented to a £1.99 fee for a one-time conversion. However, just 10 days later, they attempted to charge me an additional £49.99. A search online reveals that this seems to be a regular occurrence. Why are they not facing legal action for fraud?
This company employs deceptive tactics. They deliberately conceal the recurring monthly fee of £49.99 in small grey text, aiming to mislead consumers into purchasing what they label as '7 day limited access'. This appears to be a clear attempt to deceive customers, violating UK (and European) consumer laws. It's advisable to dispute any charges with your bank. Infringing upon UK law: The automatic renewal and the £49.99 recurring fee were not clearly displayed at the time of purchase. Instead, they were tucked away in small, low-contrast grey text at the bottom of the page, while the main interface showcased “Limited access, 1 week” and “£1” in large, eye-catching text. According to the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, essential information — particularly regarding price and recurring payment obligations — must be clearly presented. The renewal charge is critical information that was inadequately revealed. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (sections 62 and 68), contract terms should be fair, clear, and clearly visible. A recurring charge of £49.99 is a significant financial term that should not be obscured in less prominent text. Such a term is not binding on the consumer. According to the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, sellers must clearly inform consumers about the total price, the nature of the contract, and any recurring payment obligations before the consumer commits.
