Review Time
I bought Dates from them during Ramadan worth £70. I was very disappointed to receive extremely poor quality dates which were dry and probably expired. They were unedable because they were as if dates were from last year and lost their moisture.A complete rip off company and I totally agree with all negative feedbacks here. Unfortunately I only looked at the feedbacks after being scammed myself.
TO ANYONE WANTING TO DONATE PLEASE READ ALL FEEDBACK BEFORE DONATING TO PENNY APPEAL !I made a mistake in my rush to donate to the Turkey/Syria appeal.I had intended to donate through another charity but for some reason the donation would not go through.I then donated to Penny appeal after doing so I read reviews with regards to Penny appeal and was shocked at the number of negative reviews.I called my bank, the payment was showing as pending and as such had not left my account, the bank informed that the payment to Penny appeal could be stopped if they (Penny appeal) agreed not to take the money.I called Penny appeal and had the call on loudspeaker at the same time on my mobile phone I had the call to my bank on loud speaker so the bank could hear the conversation, after trying to explain to the call handler who could not understand what the issue was he put me through to a "manager" by the name of Ahmed or Akhmed I do remember he said he was a chartered surveyor, I asked him to not take my pending payment as I didn't trust Penny appeal as a charity after reading the reviews to which he said that the reviews were/could be fake and that the charity commission would have closed them down if they were not conducting their business in a proper manner and that they didn't give refunds. I explained to him that he was not issuing a refund as the money had not left my account all he needed to do was to verbally agree not to take the pending payment and this was a verbal request that the bank had asked for to which Ahmed/Akhmed the chartered surveyor reluctantly agreed I told him the money will be donated to another charity. It would have restored some trust in Penny appeal had he not acted like some cheap salesman. I have today realised that Ahmed/Akhmed the chartered surveyor is not a man of his word they have taken the money from my account, I have subsequently posted on a family and friends group re Penny appeal and your dishonesty, surprisingly there are many friends and family that have direct debit donations to your "charity" that were unaware of your poor feedback and some had indeed attended the pantomimes that you boasted about as being a success but friends and family agreed with all the negative reviews. Mr chartered surveyor Ahmed/Akhmed for your dishonesty friends and family that were donating to you via direct debit are now going to stop their donations to you and set up direct debit donations to more transparent and trustworthy charity's.The bank representative heard the conversation in full and in the time I was having my conversation he had Googled Penny appeal reviews and later told me he was shocked that a Charity would have such negative reviews.
Speaking as a former employee, I would highly advise against donating or even providing your personal information (which will illegally be used for targeting you to singlemuslim.com or other shady, low rent websites) to this set of incompetent clowns. The rot is so deep set in this so called charity it stinks, much like the tatty old office we used to have to work in. Avoid at all costs. Donate to a reputable charity.
Although we gave for the sake of Allah swt it is our duty to know where the money is going. I'm really disheartened that these people have really scammed myself and others who have been trying to do something rewarding. I would trust blindly but I was wrong where the money goes we should know and how it is spent it breaks my heart to know the families the orphans that have not received aid. I have given charity for many years to this charity like many others I also sponsored an orphan. I received a (welcome pack) supposedly. A name age father name fathers job and where the little girl was from didn't receive anything else 2 years have gone maybe longer now never got anything. The people who take calls are absolutely rude an arrogant. Please do not give to this charity do your own research please!!! I wish I had read the reviews and didn't just make excuses for why I wouldn't hear from them. These people do not fear God for every penny these people will be held accountable you cannot cheat God how do you sleep at night pocketing money! Scamming people. I was thinking about a water well till I read the reviews and how they had been photoshopin planks disgusting!
