At Christmas time my beloved Vizsla became very ill and had to undergo CT Scan and Chest surgery. My specialist Vet team would contact PIA direct for pre approval with these costs (approx $22000). I would then receive an email showing the Vets estimated cost, estimated benefit from PIA then estimated Gap amount which I had to pay.
It is an excellent experience and the process was stress free. After the operations and fees paid I would then receive a complete statement displaying the amounts that were charged by the Vet and the amount paid by PIA. I would highly recommend the 80% Cover. I have had the insurance since my Vizsla was 6 months old (now 10) and it clearly is the best decision I have made.

Their policies are also very reasonably priced compared to others on the market. It’s a huge relief knowing I can focus on Flash’s recovery instead of worrying about the paperwork. This is the most dishonest rip off company. Refused a legitimate claim for an existing condition they said. OMG it was for a completely different condition over 4 years later. They are absolute SCUM. I've now taken them to AFCA!

The company is as good as its word, delivering what they promise. Claims can come straight from the Vet including Gap-Only ones. Processing is speedy.Our Jasmine's current chemo has gone smoothly and along with the amazing Vets and team we feel Pet Insurance Australia is at her side, too.

Wouldn’t waste your money. Nearly $700 for first year of dog insurance. Got hardly anything back for a few claims. Tried to put premium up to over $1000 for second year, then capitulated when I cancelled the policy. Erm, no thanks. I’ll go elsewhere.
