The staff at the terminal and onboard where very welcoming. Always walking around with smile and hellos.
We were offered an upgrade which we took advantage of. Nice to be able to have a cup of tea/coffee in a morning.
It was good to have the choice of restaurant or costa.
I would of liked free wifi throughout the crossing, as most travel outlets provide this now.
The live entertainment was ok. The irish bar, wasn't what we thought, it was just the same bar as the main one.
On our journey to Amsterdam, we were dropped off about a good 20 minute walk to the main area, which isnt good for older people, or person with walking difficulties.
Previously the drop off was at the other side of the station which had a quick walk through and then you are at top of main area.
However all in all a good little break definitely recommended.
I recently travelled as a foot passenger with my dog on your route from Rotterdam to Hull and I wanted to share my very positive experience. From start to finish, the service was excellent including pet friendly cabin.
I truly felt like a VIP, the escort to and from the ferry was especially impressive and made the whole journey smooth, comfortable, and stress-free. Travelling with a dog can sometimes feel complicated, but your staff made it easy and welcoming, which I really appreciated.
The only small downside was the coach transfer, where I was not able to use because dogs are not accepted on coach. This was disappointing especially that Rotterdam is a dog friendly city.. I believe it would be a wonderful improvement if foot passengers with pets could use transfer to/from city center to port.
Overall, however, I am extremely happy with the experience and would gladly travel with you again. Thank you to your team for making the journey such a positive one.
Kind regards,
Dagmara & Mocha
High standards as usual. From boarding to embarking. Staff helpful and friendly. I travel to Amsterdam regularly for business and prefer the ferry to wasting hours in airports. More relaxed.
As a Unit Holder I use P and O whenever there is a suitable route and I am rarely disappointed. I was a tad miffed to pay full price for my nine year old to enter the Club Lounge
Some of the staff are very disrespectfull.
The smoking area was closed on my level and the upper level was open, went there asked for direction from a staff person who was just leaning on a door and he didn't even made eye contact, and he told me it is not his problem.
We got here 1 hour early, paid for speedy boarding, had the slowest French man on border control that didn’t care that people were in a hurry, typical!
Paid also for speedy boarding and missed the ferry. The next ferry was 2 hours later so we had a 2 hour wait which is poor by any standards at peak times 😡
Had a problem with our room heating as we couldn't turn it down, hardly slept because of the heat. Reported it reception the next day who promptly moved us to a better twin room for an extra £25. When the manager was informed she immediately refunded the £25 as a way of apology. Well done!
I travelled as a foot passenger on Dover Calais. The departure from UK sailed on time, the return departure from Calais was delay 35 to 40 minutes. I did not like (a) the 90 minute advance check in period and (b) the self-service boxed and wrapped restaurant meals. I missed the breakfast served on a plate and eaten like a proper meal.
No good for motorbike groups. I needed to book for 3 people with 3 bikes but there is no way on the website to do that. (Irish Ferries seem to manage it well.) You can book as many people as you like on 1 bike LOL.
My solution was to book for one person with one cabin then book the others without a cabin but then found it's not possible to book without a cabin! I don't think I was trying to do anything particularly unusual.
On a positive note, their phone lines are really efficient. Quick to get through and got it sorted out.
After the phone call I thought it was all done the find they've charged £60 in admin fees for a problem that isn't my fault!
