The toilets by the language claim belts 4 we’re disgusting
Having been to Mexico ware every hotel facility were spotless. I couldn’t believe my own country could be so dirty- no toilet paper dryer dident work door dident lock
It was obvious the floor hadn’t been mopped in hours.
What a shameful nation we are becoming.

Frustrating Ticket Cancellation Experience

My partner bought an express lane ticket for me, but I already had one! Unfortunately, the policy does not allow for cancellations or refunds for the £6.00 ticket. The details in the ticket information suggest that cancellations are possible if made more than 2 hours before entry, which is misleading. My travel date is in December, so I have well over 2 hours' notice!

Helpful Staff for Special Needs Travelers

We traveled with two children with autism and used sunflower lanyards for support during the security process, which can be anxiety-inducing. It's important to register the lanyards at the Assistance desk upon arrival to receive a pass for verification. The staff, particularly in security, were very patient and understanding, especially during the new scanning process. However, on our return, we encountered an issue with blocked routes. Thankfully, a staff member kindly guided us through after some confusion. Despite ongoing renovations at the airport, the personnel were excellent and made a stressful situation more manageable. Thank you for your assistance!

Avoiding the Airport at All Costs

As a Birmingham resident, I try to avoid this airport whenever possible. The parking situation is consistently frustrating year-round, and the layout feels very unaccommodating. There are long lines even for the simplest tasks. While my flights have generally been on time, the overall experience is always chaotic and stressful, whether traveling with children or not. During my last trip to France, I felt relaxed for only a brief moment out of a four-hour wait.

Pros: - Security checks were relatively quick. - Most items could remain in bags during screening. - Allowed 2L of liquids per person. - Ample shopping and dining options available. - Flights departed on time without delays. Cons: - Some areas appeared a bit worn.

Disappointing Experience with Special Assistance

I had a terrible experience waiting in a wheelchair until 3 PM for my flight. The special assistance arrangements were disorganized, and there was a lack of communication. When I insisted on moving, anxiety increased as I was finally taken over but had to manage steps with help. No one informed us of flight delays, leading to additional stress.

Extremely Poor Airport Experience

It’s hard to describe just how bad this airport is. Security is a long, hot, and cramped process, even with online check-in. The queues are massive even during quieter times. The airport is undergoing renovations, but the facilities are still shabby and not particularly clean. The preboarding areas are cramped, and the prices at shops and cafes are exorbitant. I paid £5 for a soft drink. Be prepared for a long walk. If possible, consider flying from another airport.
