Review Time
And once again I have been another victim of porter dobson I wished I had read reviews before employing them but as I was griving and not not myself at the time I failed to read reviewsThey seem very good in property cases but in Wills and Probate cases it's a big No I have been overcharged for unnecessary work conducted and to no conclusion on my contested will case to the fact I had to resort to employing another solicitor's firm who got the probate lifted in half the time and a fraction of the cost I would like to stress anyone who has been in a similar situation to take them to the Legal Ombudsman which is what stage im at at the moment
Porter Dodson dealt with the administration and sale of my late father's estate. They were efficient and informative, and made the whole process as easy as possible, with minimal jargon. Every staff member I spoke to was helpful and friendly. Many thanks again to Chris for dealing with everything and for patiently answering all my queries over the last year or so. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Porter Dodson for probate law and property conveyancing.
Robert Coppard took me through a property purchase. As far as I'm concerned the company did what it was paid to do and did it well. What more can one say? Everyone was courteous and friendly and, human nature being what it is, that inspires confidence.I have one beef, and that is regarding communication. On two or three occasions, having sent material information, I found myself waiting, wondering, "did they receive that last email I sent?" Years ago, solicitors would acknowledge every incoming communication, to excess sometimes, but now, perhaps to keep fees down, acknowledgement has swung the other way. Surely the modern computer system can be triggered to electronically acknowledge communications at almost no additional cost to the practice?Apart from that (which at the time is quite unnerving) all was good.

We have had very good service from Porter Dodson, Bridport. Ms Stephanie McCulloch helped us redraft our Wills during Covid and met us outside in a car park with her assistant to witness us signing them. Thankfully not on a windy or wet day! Just recently Stephanie helped us draw up Lasting Powers of Attorney and arranged for them to be registered. We were pleased with the professional and friendly way these matters were handled and we would certainly use Porter Dodson again.
