I had the front of my house windows replaced, and this is the first real winter we've had in years to me the windows were still drafty the front bedrooms were cold as was the living room. We had to put on extra clothes and bugs were getting in through the windows. So far that been my experience.
If I could assign them a negative star I would. The sales people are the biggest scammers I’ve ever encountered in my life. They come knocking with their sales pitch even though I live in a private property area with NO SOLICITING allowed. I am embarrassed to admit that twice I have been given bogus quotes that I agreed to and twice I’ve been scammed for almost $3K. I guess I’m fortunate it hasn’t been even more money. I am a senior woman on a fixed income and now I believe they seek out people like me. If there will be a class action suit against Power Home Remodeling please let me know. I very much want to be included.
Worst experience from the time we answered the door. It was lies, high pressure sales. So there is so much to start with. First someone comes knocking on our door, my wife answered, the young man use their " We are going to be in the neighborhood next week, would you mind if we came and did a quick window estimate? " My wife said ONLY IF THEY JUST DO A QUCK ESTIMATE AND LEAVE- NO PUSHY SALES and WE AR NOT IN THE MARKET but would like to see the quote. When the salesman came it was the worse experience you can imagine, I work out of my home office, was VERY busy and the very young and PUSHY salesman insisted I come in and listen to his pitch. He proceeded with a 2 1/2 hour sales pitch that used every known sales trick from donating to Children's Charity, pulling out huge suitcases of sales props, I made it clear the whole time that we were NOT in the position to spend money on windows. He argued with me and this very young in his late 20s telling me how to run my finances. The worst thing that insulted us is to try to sell our duplex small home windows for $21000 plus! The patio door alone was over $5k. Then he used the old 'Well we can use you as advertising program ' bs sales gimmick. His whole pitch was gimmicks and I feel sorry for poor defenseless elderly folk they prey on, They need to be stopped or file lawsuits, He tried to tell us that 11 year payments were fine and we are in our 70's , at a high interest rate. It was shameful and the person who comes to your door gets paid whether you buy or not so he is going to lie to get them to sic their pitbull of a salesman. I am going on every review site, Trustpilot, BBB and filing a complaint. I am going to see if their are others so we can file a class action suit on behalf of others that have been abused by this type of sales.
This company is awful and unprofessional. Waiting one year to have a storm door repaired. First called in fall of 2024. It takes three months for a service person to show up for an appointment. First time to come look at the sliding door and tech says need to order parts. Finally on Sept 3, 2025 tech showed with wrong parts and that didn’t fit. Now I’m told they can’t get the parts because the storm door is discontinued. Did offer a solution that I can replace the storm door for $4200.00. Ridiculous and I didn’t eleven write about three windows that still haven’t been properly replaced after the one year. Told those windows were discontinued also. They sale junk and don’t care, my experience. Would never ever do business with them again.
First, they had a dumpster delivered. The dumpster company drove on my lawn creating a ditch 13" deep. They refused to come out and fill it in. Power said the dumpster company is a separate company and there was nothing they could do.Second, the workers were throwing the old roof shingles off the roof into the dumpster. They cracked part of my siding in the process. The inspector said that this damage was listed as prior damage. I showed him where the prior damage was and explain how this was not the same damage. He refused to do anything about it.Third and definitely most infuriating, the day after the inspector who closed out the project left, the siding at the top nearest the soffit all along the front of the house started falling off. I promptly contacted the project team at Power HRG and they had someone come out and fix the siding a few days later. Then it happened again. This time I couldn't get in touch with anyone for weeks. Finally, I was able to reach someone after a month or so and they sent someone out to fix the siding again. THEN, it happened again, and this time I couldn't get in touch with anyone for months. In July of 2024, they responded to one of my emails, but didn't send anyone out. I tried to learn how to fix it myself, but the siding just keeps falling down. Now in September of 2025, I'm trying to reach out again and they're telling me that they don't have any openings until 2026.That's not all either. In short, there are chipped shingles here and there on the roof, there are hundreds upon hundreds of nails all over my yard around the house and in the gutters, the gutters are NOT graded correctly causing plants to grow out of them in the spring, AND they convinced me to go with these 6" K style gutters, saying that they are better and don't need gutter guards since they're so large. Unfortunately, that's a total lie and now it'll cost the other arm and leg to get some type of guard installed so I don't have to clean them twice each year. This company is all about making money by overselling, saving money by cutting corners, providing horrible customer service, and ultimately screwing over their customers. All this company needed to do to be successful is take responsibility for the damages they caused and respond to my calls and emails.
BEWARE. Several threads on reddit describing aggressive salesmen, not being able to get out of contracts, having personal information sold to third parties, etc.Predatory sales tactics.Came onto my property in the middle of a week day, knocked repeatedly, aggressively asked to come in to provide a window replacement estimate right then and there, and refused to take no for an answer.Basically had to shut my door on them to get them to leave.Their tactics should be considered harassment.Think about - what legitimate company would need to rely on such aggressive sales tactics ti get business?? A good contracting company produces work that speaks for itself. They would not need to rely on harassing people.Power HRG if youre reading this - in what world do you think aggressive door to door sales would be effective? Is it the 1950s?
The product and company look good from the start. The main selling point is the lifetime warranty. The big problem is when you call for some warranty work, your scheduled 4 to 6 monthsout and given the famous"I'm sorry". When you have a screen go out in the summer or fall, a service call to fix it in the winter months is rediculous at best. Don't let them fool you with their sales pitch. The warranty is half assed at best.
I purchased 12 windows from Power approximately 10 years ago. A couple of years ago I noticed a brown buildup between the panes. I called Power and they sent a replacement (which I had to install) at no charge, just as the warranty stated. Now, three more of our windows have the same problem. I called Power, only to be told that because of a change in window providers, I will be charged $180.00 per window. I was told this was the best they could do. So much for a lifetime warranty.
Power Home Remodeling is a company with a complete team of experts at your disposal from the sales staff estimators, project managers and very competent installation crews. We had our 30-year old windows, siding, gutters and trim replaced recently. They covered our furnitures with plastic sheeting and placed runner mats on the floors to protect our home. The window crew was fast and efficient completing the job in one day. The siding crew removed the old siding and covered our thin masonite board with 1/2 inch plywood and wrapped the house with vapor barrier before installing insulated siding. That took about five days but the crew cleaned up every day and made sure we have a safe environment. Gustavo (siding manager) and his team did an excellent job. The house is now well insulated, quieter and protected from the elements. We are anticipating great energy savings.
