Email about delivery day

It was a little confusing as I got an email on Wednesday saying my package was to be delivered on Thursday asking whether I wanted it signed for or not and giving me alternative options ...By the time I got home on Wednesday it had been safely delivered to my neighbour so I am not sure what the email was aboutB
