I had a Audi with 90000 on clock i got a gold warranty of aa but not worth the paper it’s written on my clutch and flywheel went they would not pay for it. The flywheel had failed but the aa said it’s a serviceable part so aa don’t pay garage waste of time and money PLEASE DONT BUY AA WARRANTY it’s not worth the paper it written on
Very happy with them so far. I have had couple of claims. And each time they have been quick in claim process. The only point to remember is that if your car is taken to dealer garage instead of their recommend garage you are always told that the rate of labour they approve is around 60. But in my case they ended up paying full amount too . I still have 2 years to go with warranty and I am happy that my car is in safe hands for any mechanical and electrical breakdowns .
Had a Jaguar XF with GSM - Internal Gear Selector Module failure - AA say they dont cover it even on 5 star policy as they do not regard it as an internal part of the gearbox. I am now £1000 out of pocket. Very disappointing from a company that has traded on its branding for honesty and fair play for years....... I acknowledge that I had the repair done by a Jaguar main dealer before contacting the AA Warranty as I had forgotten I had this 36 months warranty and when I found out later that my repairs in January 2018 were well within this warranty period which ended in August 2018, I submitted a claim and was told "that they had not accepted my claim because they claimed that that the Internal GSM (Gear Selector Module) is not an internal part of the automatic gearbox."
A very slow process to get the approval from the warranty company towards the repairer and almost none communication to the customer unless I called every day and waited online for longer than 10 minutes each time. The list of approved garages should be refined since the Garage I have used has resulted in an absolute nightmare. Wouldn't use it again if I had the option.
In my opinion , due to my experience , they took my £799 for 3 year warranty , and in return for my hard earned cash , I have received absolutely nothing . No one wants their car to breakdown unexpectedly , I should have saved the money .
Generally very happy with the service. I only had on episode with one of the claim managers who could have been more helpful and gone through some of the options after the second garage said that could not manage the problem - instead I was told it was not a problem that would be covered by AA.
