Funds held for over a year.
Stripe has blatantly ignored my repeated attempts to contact their support.
They have been holding funds for over a year. The account was randomly closed. It never had a single dispute.
The chargeback window of 180 days has passed many times over by now. The funds need to be released.
I have attached my Stripe Acct ID to this review as requested by Stripe.
You guys now have no excuse.
Please do the right thing and release the funds.
Recently started Stripe as a payment getaway for my online store, got 2 orders and after the second one stipe disabled my account, even tho i submitted documents requested such as inventory proof and invoices for where i source the products from.
They will keep those funds locked for 120 days, i cant issue refunds to my customers neither transfer that money to my account.
When i contacted them to issue a refund for those orders they replied that they have to keep those funds locked in order to address any potential disputes.
What disputes ?
There are no other orders and i want them both refunded, i already informed my customers about issues with the payment processor and that those orders will be canceled and refunded.
Please take actions and issue those refunds as there is no reason at this point why you should keep them.
Also, stripe customer service is almost non existent, it looks like if anything goes bad you are on your own.
The worst service, these guys are thieves, they will keep your money without any proper explanations, and the process of speaking with someone takes ages. It's been more than a year since i have been waiting on them to release funds provided all the relevant documents, they dont even respond
They hold your funds for no clear reason, especially during Q4. Their system can suddenly shut down your store, and you’re left with no proper explanation.
They tell you that you’ll be refunded within 3 months, then after 3 months they delay again saying “next month” over and over. It feels like endless postponement.
Even if your business model is fully compliant, transparent, and you ship real products with tracking, you can still face sudden holds.
Extremely stressful experience for any business owner. I would strongly advise merchants to be cautious and always have a backup payment processor.
I received a response only after leaving a review, but my issue is still not resolved. I was told to contact support and provide the required details, but whenever I open a case, it gets closed automatically within 10 minutes without any conversation or assistance.
Less than 24 hours after signing up, I received multiple emails (the first accusing me of "agreement violation") about not having content/using the word "donation" instead of "tip" (the email does not even tell you what you violated).
This is despite Stripe partnering up with a company that allows you to connect with them as a payment platform, but doesn't ensure that that company requires you to provide the information Stripe needs. After ensuring all the information they asked for was correctly filled out, I completed the first form, only to receive a second notice email in less than 2 hours.
I was shocked to see Stripe as a company demonstrating this falsely accusatory behavior. I have heard bad things about them in the past, and now I know why.

I thought was reliable I had an active account for 10+ years however even I got reviewed by stripe 4 times without problems over the last few years, today they just closed my account and just sending you of to a list of restricted services that I do not sell at all with stripe and is mentioned everywhere in my website, big businesses are unreliable like stripe is you can not count in them at all, seems they want you have everything as they want it and it does not work like that of course we can sell other stuff just do not accept payment form them very logic seems stripe does not understand that after a 5 minute review they declined again when asking to tell me what is the restricted category exactly no answer so tried it again no answer, not transparent not understanding you killing someone's income just not playing fair and unreliable disappointed that I put my trust in this company...
Update for stripe, no you do not answer when i ask what category, I wrote 5 times and will continue to do so, you guys not reasonable reviews take 5 minutes and you send pre made message nice reply but reality with stripe is different stop protecting yourself with nonsense talk and hiding behind a list help people and tell them what is wrong you support are you not? Well rating here shows support is not good is it? So do something about it or you want to say it is our fault sorry you pathetic, i wrote you again let's see or you going to fix it because fancy words here (pre made answers mostly) but helping NO NO NEVER solving an issue caused by YOU STRIPE, NO NO either.... get your stuff correctly with a rating of 1.8 says enough that you just do not care at all FIX THE PROBLEM email 8 have been send, will i get a descent response or a premade one where the guy can not even take the time to write his name with a CAPITAL LETTER so much they care... next step is you solve it, because i make multiple next steps but you not doing anything at all! so bogus things stating and not doing anything to get my business back on track causing problems for no reason upset people, stress out people great job STRIPE , terrible behavior, just another to big company that does not care and can not be transparent and that you can not trust EVER, oh and you not sorry at all you do NOT CARE ANYTHING but your own PAY CHECK!
If I could give a zero star I would. They collected money from a tenant on Feb 1st. They show my payout to be March 5th!!!
Really your holding on to my money, tenant is in my property and you hold it for over a month. I’ve gone round and round with them. Bottom line, save yourself a headache and pick a different company because this company sucks!!!!
The AI assistant makes it so easy.
I was having trouble getting payment links set up, and the UI interface is not that intuitive to start. Somehow I found how to use the AI assistant, and I was blown away.
It literally will do the work for you, you just have to tell it what you want.
I simply typed out the payment link type I wanted and it created it for me.

We started using Stripe on February 3rd. Three days later, on February 6th, our account was closed with $2,500 in balance for a vague "high risk" reason with no further explanation.
Since our funds were frozen, we were unable to refund our customers. We opened a support ticket requesting to process refunds, but it was closed without a response. When a customer inevitably opened a dispute because we could not deliver services, we contacted support again for help. Their response was a lengthy, generic message filled with corporate pleasantries that essentially said: your account is closed, we cannot help you, good luck.
So to summarize: Stripe froze our funds, prevented us from refunding our customers, ignored our support tickets, and then wished us "warm regards." As a small business, we cannot absorb these costs, and Stripe has offered zero meaningful assistance.
Read this and tell me this is not a joke of a company.
If you are a small business, think twice before relying on Stripe. You could wake up one morning with your funds frozen, your customers unserved, and no one on the other end willing to help.
