Not reliable. At the beginning you will get around 30$ for all the surveys you will do (around 20). After that it's void there is not enough tasks for the number of workers, therefore this is not a stable reliable job and don't count on it. 1 star because of that.
Unfortunately I'm not sure what has happened with Prolific, I have made a great deal of extra cash with Prolific which I'm really happy about, but now there are too many surveys that are required to be taken on a laptop, my earnings have dropped considerably which is frustrating.
Automated customer support
I have been on this platform since 2024 it was a good site but now they have made customer support automated and using the bot to Flagg studies my study was flagged by their system no reason given by the researcher and account went on hold immediately with over 2000+ submission and only one unfair rejection and support not helping justs sending automated messages is frustrating they should improve their customer service.
Been using Prolific as a participant for a year and a half now. This is a great research platform and I really enjoy using it. You can cash out daily at £6 and it is instant. It is so positive to be able to contribute to research and I have been able to be involved in research studies about specific complex medical conditions which I have and this has been really positive for me. There are some fun and engaging studies also and Prolific is one of my favourite corners of the internet!
I feel like this company just stole my data. I applied, went through all the steps, uploaded my ID and then finally they say I failed the verification. I uploaded all my true details and my government issued identification. They barely provide any information as to why the verification failed and the only option left is to close the account. I therefore cannot guarantee that my information has been deleted. Proceed with caution.
I’ve been using Prolific since 2019 and I’ve been really happy with the platform. I’ve never had any issues over the years, the studies pay well, and everything is clear and straightforward. On the few occasions I needed help, the support team was responsive and handled things professionally. Overall, it’s been a great experience and I’m very comfortable using Prolific.
Got screened out of 80 studies last month, most studies are low paying 15,20c surveys. probably have my membership revoked for being honest but someone has to be. It used to be good, lucky to make £10a wk nowadays. I noticed US participants earning 8,9k while the UK participants get the dregs, Prolific doesn't care about UK they are too busy chasing Americans money.
I've been a participant on Prolific for a few years now, and without a doubt, this is by far the best platform for online studies, surveys, and more. Not once have I ever had a bad experience. And sure, there are several online platforms that are similar to Prolific, but I know from personal experience that most of them just leave you pi*sed off. That's not the type of experience you will have on Prolific. Anybody who says otherwise, they did it to themselves. It's pretty simple. Provide honest feedback, follow all instructions, and maintain accuracy and high quality in all of your submissions.
I spent three weeks on a waiting list for Prolific, jumping through every hoop they demanded: uploading my driver’s license front and back, a selfie, and even writing a five-paragraph essay. After all that effort, I was instantly rejected in seconds. No explanation, no review, nothing. Their “support team cannot provide additional details” line feels like a total brush-off after collecting sensitive personal information.
Even more concerning: Prolific says they will delete my data if I close my account, but how can I really trust that after such a rushed rejection following weeks of verification? It leaves a lingering worry about where my personal information went.
This experience feels completely arbitrary and disrespectful. If you value your time and privacy, think twice before giving Prolific your personal data. They may reject you for reasons you’ll never know, and there’s no recourse or accountability.
