The story telling features are nice but I can't believe that some goddamn grammar suggestions are hidden behind pay walls! I care about grammar over spelling in these software because it's more of a week spot but instead I need to pay for certain grammar things. pathetic. don't push you upgrade tier that hard, please.
I love using ProWritingAid but I wish there was a better free option to like watch ads to use some stuff because buying these credits are hard sometimes for me and just wish there was something to do to receive some feature for free.
Useful reports on writing style. Integrates well with most online applications and through the desktop application. With trepidation, I dropped my yearly Grammarly Pro fee ($144/year) and went with PWA. Thus far, their LTD seems fair and much better than Grammarly.
Don't get me wrong, I love Grammarly. It's quick, integrates with every dialog box, and it's always just there with its ubiquitous, calming interface; however, after using it for a few years and realizing it's an ongoing expense, I had a hard time justifying the yearly fee. PWA gives me just as much (if not more) writing help at a fraction of the cost. PWA isn't as quick as Grammarly at summarizing and fixing errors, but again, comparing a one-time fee versus a yearly subscription still feels like a simple decision.
Love PWA - wish I'd found it earlier in my writing career.
Overall: If you're looking for a tool that can assist with your overall/creative writing endeavors, go with PWA. If you need something that's constantly there to act as a coach and you don't mind paying yearly fees, Grammarly is your go-to.
I love all the features!
So many different angles to improve my writing that I normally don't even think about.
There are some bugs/AI suggestions/corrections that don't really make sense. And it mostly wants me to write in past tense when I'm writing in the present tense.
When it functions properly, I value the grammar suggestions and tools available in the 'Report' menu. However, it can be quite buggy and requires enhancements. The grammar suggestion window is overly sensitive; if I don't hover precisely, the suggestions vanish and new ones appear. Additionally, I can't access extra suggestions when more are available, and often it fails to advance to the next suggestion, getting stuck. I've frequently encountered error messages indicating that the site is having issues saving my work. Thankfully, I save my work elsewhere, but these problems occur too frequently. I hope for improvements soon.
