Review Time
Psicon provided an excellent experience during my ADHD assessment. The team made me feel comfortable, genuinely listened to, and helped me gain real clarity and answers. I was also fortunate to have only a four‑month wait after being referred from my ASD assessment with Psicon, which had already been a fantastic experience. I would strongly recommend Psicon to anyone seeking an ADHD or ASD assessment.
Psicon were chosen by our GP as a Right To Choose partner for an ADHD assessment for our child. The assessment was a 'tick box' exercise, my child was seen by the assessor for three minutes, and asked three questions and then the remainder of the 35 minute assessment was discussing his flaws (from my perspective). The company did not engage in any communications that were attempted prior to the assessment and I feel as though we were fobbed off with a diagnosis without an assessment.
I picked Psicon via Right to Choose. I am a teacher, including SEND, and already know that my child has ADHD however she is masking at school. The following information that is published on their website is why I chose them and unfortunately I have now discovered that this is false information:
"What if the assessing clinicians don't see what I see (masking)?
Having assessed thousands of children for ADHD, we are used to seeing it present in many different ways. Our assessments are designed to take masking and camouflaging into account – especially with girls. Our team are very well trained in understanding this area and our assessment includes information gathered from both home and school, as well as data captured from what’s called a QB check. A QB check is an online test created by experts in the field to objectively compare the reactions of your child against key ADHD symptoms, the results of which are compiled in a report which is used by the clinician to inform the diagnostic assessment."
This information is greatly misleading. They are taking NHS money and for what??? Without even seeing her, Psicon have refused to assess my daughter - despite evidence from home, school, an edPsyc and the QB check. I will now have to go back to the GP and request referral to another provider, which will cost the NHS more money.
The Government are cracking down on Right to Choose and I can now see why!
If you are thinking of going for a private assessment with Psicon, I certainly wouldn't waste money with these charlatans.
I made two referral for my Son on the Right to Choose pathway - for Autsim and ADHD. Throughout the whole process, Psicon have been both professional but very empathetic. Their communication has been great - both via email and also during phone calls. The process has been straight forward and simple. In each part of the assessment process, the clinicians and staff have been very clear, explanatory and very supportive and professional. They made myself and my son feel at ease. My son was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD and I feel as if navigating the process was made simple and clear. The report we received for the Autism assessment was highly accurate and reflective of my son and we are currently awaiting the ADHD report.I would 100% recommend Psicon.Thank you for your professionalism and care during this process.
Considering the long wait times for ADHD assessments lately, I was amazed that from GP referral to the actual assesment was just over 5 months.... The whole process was great. The company kept me up to date with every stage and there time scales were spot on. The Dr who did the assesment was thorough and so genuine it was a great experience, I was apprehensive about the assesment via Microsoft teams but It went much smoother than I thought. I am now waiting for the report which can take approx 8 to 10 weeks, so a bit of a wait but understandable with the volume of people they see.I would highly recommend Psicon for an ADHD assessment.
