I authorized $1.95 for one QR code on the QR.io site and was billed for it on my credit card. Later I found they were also billing me for $49.95/month unauthorized. Called my Chase credit card company to dispute but they were not able to reverse the charges because "it is a subscription". I cancelled my subscription on the QR.io site and reported my credit card stolen as I didn't trust that the phoney subscription would be cancelled. I chalked it up to a $100 (2 months billings) learning experience. DO NOT GIVE ANY CREDIT INFORMATION TO THIS SITE!!!
This company is predatory. I wanted to generate one QR code which was used on a one-off occasion.
I did this whilst travelling and found to my horror I have been charged over 70 Australian dollars per month since September. The code has not been used since September. Beware their monthly subscription trick.
I created what looked like a simple QR code, printed 50 business cards, and now the code shows “invalid” unless I pay $240/year. This is extremely misleading — the platform defaults to dynamic QR codes without clearly warning that they will be deactivated after the trial. A basic website QR should not be held hostage behind a subscription. Small businesses lose real money because of this bait-and-switch setup. Avoid unless you want to risk reprinting your materials
Bait and switch scam. Everyone that makes QR codes generates them for free. They cheat you saying it's free then after their trial ends they deactivate it and hold it ransom. If you have printed material, that's especially horrible.
Avoid at all costs, absolutely criminal and should be removed from business with the owners jailed and barred from using the internet or any forms of communication other than their own unaided voice to individually apologize to each and every person they scam.
Any 5-star reviews are clearly AI generated. This company is a complete SCAM. I have tried cancelling my account 3 months in a row and they're still billing me. They were even able to charge an expired debit card. Don't ask me how, but they did it so now I'm taking it up with my bank to chargeback the withdrawals or reimburse me themselves because at $50 a month you DO NOT get what you pay for.
After evaluating multiple QR code trackers, this was my final choice. The interface is user-friendly, and I received prompt responses from actual representatives with accurate information. A significant advantage is that the text displayed on the camera is neutral and professional. It's only the first day, but my initial tests have been promising. I'm very satisfied.
I paid a small amount for a 14-day access to a QR code creator. At the end of that period, it automatically switched to a $50 monthly subscription. I expected to lose access after 14 days, but instead, they enrolled me in a subscription. When I reached out to the support team, they mentioned a notification about this change, which I don’t recall seeing. After spending $75 for a non-refundable monthly subscription, they now expect another $75 for supposedly lifetime access to the QR code. I could have easily created a static QR code for a fraction of the cost! This experience has been frustrating—buyer beware!
