My children, ages 9 and 10, have been using TTRS for about 3 months. They both struggle with reading and one with handwriting. I discovered TTRS and felt it would be a supplement to our home education endeavors. I was right! Both boys really enjoy the lessons and score above 90% each time. It has improved their typing skills, reinforced their reading and spelling skills, and even reinforced maintaining good spacing in their handwriting. They now say "Space" after writing a word just as the typing program prompts which has greatly improved the legibility of their writing. More importantly, TTRS has increased their confidence which is sorely needed in those who struggle with language arts. We are so glad we discovered TTRS and have recommended it on the Homeschooling With Dyslexia FB group and with many tutors, psychiatrists and other professionals.
My school has been using the TTRS since the first time we introduced a touch-typing course. It has been amazing ever since: a well designed program, only real words, a multisensory mixture of different approaches to learning to touch-type (you can type from seeing as well as hearing the words). As a teacher, I love the combination of the main program and the challenging "Subjects" and "Free writing" - differentiation built-in.From the admin perspective, the TTRS team has ALWAYS been incredibly supportive, flexible and understanding of our needs and circumstances.
I have only had positive experiences with TTRS. My students (aged 5-14) really like the programme and its flexibility really works for me. Every staff member I have had communication with has been very efficient and helpful, especially Harry.
TTRS is helping my 3 kids on each of their individual levels. It is helping my youngest to learn her ABCs and to match her capital and small letters, as well as learning to type and familiarise herself with the keyboard. The programme is also helping my middle son, who is on the autism spectrum and battles to write with a pencil due to fine motor challenges. TTRS is assisting him to learn a means to express himself by typing or "write independently". At the same time he is learning to improve his spelling. My eldest son, who has mild dyslexia and ADHD is benefiting him in so many ways; including learning to type properly and improve spelling. The programme offers many options to customise the features for each individual's needs. And the best is, I haven't even started using some of the other features yet, which were explained to me during a personal tutorial. This programme is an asset to our homeschool curriculum and I would recommend it to anyone, even adults.Tanya BowesSouth Africa
