Pushy salespeople asked to see my…

Pushy salespeople asked to see my utility bill under the guise of qualifying for free light bulbs. Ended up signing me up for a different energy company. Totally scummy.

ZERO STARS! SCAM ALERT!

ZERO STARS!! SCAM!! BEWARE!! Upon entry to my neighborhood is a sign that states NO SOLICITATION, which apparently a certain male door knocker failed to read/comprehend. On Tuesday 07/01/2025, my dog alerted me to this young man who was knocking on doors trying to get residents to switch their electric provider to Residents Energy, LLC. I heard him at my neighbor’s door beginning his corporate spiel to which I also heard my neighbor politely decline. He then rang my doorbell. I have no interest in switching my electricity provider & since I wasn’t interested, I simply didn’t open my door. I heard him outside my door for for a few minutes. He then walked away past my front window. While looking inside my window, we made eye contact & he got the point & moved on to bother someone else. My time is valuable…Don’t waste it. If I want something, I will initiate it. Fast forward to today…I get a letter in the mail from my electric provider saying that they have received notice that I have selected Residents Energy, LLC to be my electric generation supplier. Ummmm…Yeah, that’s not happening. This fine, outstanding employee of Residents Energy, LLC enrolled me without my authorization/without my permission. I asked my neighbor if he received this letter & he said no but he did say the guy had ear buds in & was having a conversation & that when he politely declined & closed his door, the guy said he was “a racist, old man” to whoever he was talking to. This unauthorized enrollment is a crime. I called this company today to get to the bottom of the issue & was told that an investigation will be made & gave me a case number, cancellation number, etc & said someone would contact me in 5-7 business days. Here’s the cherry on top of the fraudulent sundae…I was told that I would be responsible for charge of the electricity usage for 3-5 days…Yeah, that’s a hard pass. I did NOT sign up for this service & I am NOT paying for anything. The customer service rep that I was speaking to said she would note that I am disputing this usage & amount due. I said the PUC would love to hear all about this. She then came back on the line to offer me a $75 MasterCard gift card for bringing this issue to their attention. Are you kidding me? So I’m guessing unauthorized enrollment is what these amazing door knockers specialize in if this company is quick to hand out gift cards as an apology. I’m guessing he did this in retaliation for me not coming to the door when he saw that I was home &/or this company gives bonuses for getting a certain number of people to sign up. Whatever the reason, THIS IS ILLEGAL. I will repeat this again…What this man did is a crime. It is illegal to falsify my information, signature, etc. I will be filing a report with the PUC, BBB, the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, & the police. This employee picked the wrong person to scam. If dishonesty is a quality that you value when selecting a utility provider, then Residents Energy, LLC is for you.

I live in the Northeast Philadelphia

I live in the Northeast Philadelphia, Pa. and one day, someone knocking on my door so I look out and ask what do you want? They are Saleman who worked for the Residents Energy LLT so I came out and hear what they have to say. I was told that the company would be cheaper so I signed up. Now my bill is higher than was before and I'm sorry I did because I called the company to complain and I want this cancelled. A lady tole me that it has been taken care BUT it hasn't. Be warned about this company who rip you off.
