Very knowledgeable and friendly customer service representatives. I didnt really understand what I signed up for initially, so i called the number that the sales guy gave me when he got me enrolled. It did take like 10 minutes to reach customer services for Residents Energy, but the girl I talked to there was SO helpful and SO nice and patient with me. Now im paying a rate lower than my local company was offering, locked in for almost 2 years.
Complete scam. They even wore ameren tags around their neck and when asked if they were a co op told me no. They had a copy of a bill and pretended it was mine. When I told them it wasn't my bill they asked for mine. Told me I was supposed to get a refund in the mail because my energy supplier was changing. The rate they gave me was nearly 3x what I already pay. Called and canceled within 5 minutes of the rep leaving. Called ameren and asked to block the request to change provider. Screw these people
I have been sucked into another supply change scam I am afraid. Last time I did this I swear my bill went up by 250%. Well this one (Residents Energy) showed up at my door a moment ago swearing that Comed sent them to provide a discounted supply on a natural energy. I told them I didnt want to change suppliers from my last experience being so bad, and they swore they were only here to update my service to the lower rate because I was paying too high a rate. They kept saying that Comed sent them to update my service- like it was mandatory for everyone. I am terrified to switch- I think this is probably a scam. After saying they just needed to check my acct data I am pretty sure I just signed up for a new service. I told her I want to stay with my original service provider. I don't want to have to deal with R.E. again. Very slick talkers. They called up some other guy and this woman at my house talked over him and then told me to say Yes to his questions. I couldnt even hear what he was asking half the time... deceitful tactics. He explained something about variable rates, so I said "I thought you said I was going to be paying 9cents flat rate" he and the woman both acted confused and "didnt even know what that question was about but need me to say YES I understand"... I asked them to repeat the questions several times with no clear understanding... High pressure... I feel duped. And thats coming from someone with a degree in sales. Feel stupid :(
Total scam artists. Used deceptive tactics to talk their way into our house and switch our plan, then freaked out on us when we caught them in the act. Ended up with police at our house. Never let these people talk to you about your energy bill or anything else.
Residents energy is a SCAM. They come to your door, and right off the back they're being deceptive. Wearing a badge that says they work for your city. One of their sales reps, Drew, came to my door and said he just wanted to check my bill and make sure I wasnt getting over charged. That my bill shouldnt have 5 charges under the eletric supply, there should just be one. Called the agent, and he told me I would just be speaking with someone to verify some things such as my name and address. I couldnt quite understand the agent on the phone, so Drew said he woud give me a thumbs up to say yes or a a thumbs down to say no. I repeatedly asked him if I was changing anything because I was comfortable with my energy bill. He assured me he was I wasnt. Well that was a LIE! Come to find out he wasnt even supposed to be present while I spoke with the agent. Do not invest in this company. They are scammers and liars. I will NEVER do business with them.
I cannot get into contact with them at all. They won't pick up the phone, I can't send emails to them because their website freezes as soon as I try to. Two women would NOT stop knocking on my door. Straight up 3+ minutes of persistent knocking. And when they ask for verbal consent, I can't even understand the woman on the phone. The women tell me she's just confirming simple things like my name. I am so heated and cannot believe I got myself into this scam. If they come to your door saying they are with your electric company, DON'T TRUST THEM
