Mixed Feelings on Auction Experience

I won a Hummer for £6,000 at auction. I should have read the terms better, as an additional 39% buyer's premium was added later. The cancellation fee feels excessive, and I would have appreciated a discount. I've participated in several auctions and have never encountered a buyer's premium this high. It's my first time having to cancel a winning bid.

Smooth Purchase Experience

The purchase was straightforward. The bidding process was quick and easy, and the vehicle was delivered just three days later.

STAY AWAY extreme dissatisfaction with…

STAY AWAY extreme dissatisfaction with a recent purchase experience through this company, which was facilitated via Bidspotter. After my initial bid was accepted, I was subsequently issued a second invoice for storage and additional fees, which was not disclosed at the time for storage. This unexpected charge was applied even after the initial payment was processed. Furthermore, despite exporting the vehicle to Ireland, my request for a VAT refund was denied. So bad to deal with. To compound these issues, the Nissan pickup I purchased had a major engine fault, requiring a new head gasket, after arriving. This repair is estimated to cost between £4,000 and £5,000.I believe this experience warrants a strong warning to other potential buyers. This company is SCAM. I have reported them to HMRC and tow other bodies. They are part of another dogey auction group

Toyota Hilux

On 25.03.2025, I bought a Toyota Hilux from Richardmaze auctioneers and co. The details of the car are described on the bidding page. The MOT is valid until 29.04.2025. The car is in running order, how many miles have been done etc. However, when I paid the first bill, they told me to pay the second one and then I could come and collect the car. I went to get a new MOT but the mechanic told me that the chassis was completely rusted and cracked and that he couldn't believe that the car had passed its MOT last year. The mechanic advised me not to drive this car because it was completely unsafe. I couldn't believe that a car like this could be sold at auction. I drove the car from Leicester to London for MOT where I live and risked my own life and the lives of other drivers. The auctioneers charged me an Administration fee of £485 plus VAT on two bills. £485 is the Administration fee for a Toyota Hilux, I didn't buy two Toyotas.

I purchased a car from this company at Richard Maze Auctions.

I purchased a car from this company at an online auction, the photos of the vehicle were taken of the driver side, front and rear, the picture of the passenger side was shown with the door open, I now know that thiswas done intentionaly to hide the large dent on the door.I called them after the car was delivered and the reply was, you had an opportunity to veiw the car before buying. THE PICTURES WERE TOTALY MISSLEADING.
