Review Time
There should be negative stars. This woman this business are experts at not paying their staff. The founder Lisa will not pay you. She will give fake paydates then ignore your emails completely as she continues business as usual. Ignore the trusted herd reviews. They are probably that way because BAs are afraid of being blacklisted. Don’t dismiss the bad reviews like I did. It’s a shame she’s been in business that like scamming staff out of their hard earned earnings.
This has been the worst experience in the work field for me. DO NOT WORK OR BOOK RUBY LEMON!!!! It's daunting that a company like this exsist. 48 days without getting paid in December. In fact they gave us a 3 week period between pay dates. Ive emailed the dozens of times, and got them to say say that their app had been malfunctioning and that everyone need to give them their hours via email. Well I sent mine and they emailed me a week later saying they were so sorry and for me and to give them my info so lisa can "send it directly to me". And that was the last I heard from them. 7 days ago. All b.s. It really irks me that they think they can get away with this. So save yourself now and do not click ruby lemon.
I’m sharing this so other workers know what to expect before agreeing to work with Lisa Sansom / Ruby Lemon. My experience was a cycle of delayed communication, missing information, and constantly shifting requirements around payment. After the work was completed, no clear process was provided, emails went unanswered for long stretches, and every time I followed up there was suddenly a “new” item needed that had never been mentioned before. It felt less like payroll and more like intentional runaround. The tone of communication was dismissive and gaslighting—delays were framed as my fault despite the company never providing instructions or timelines in the first place. Instead of professionalism, I was met with email tag, vague responses, and zero accountability for paying earned wages. If you choose to work with this company, protect yourself: • Get payment terms and process in writing before the job • Document everything • Do not assume you’ll be paid on time • Be prepared that you may need to pursue NY Department of Labor unpaid wage procedures to receive what you’re owedI would not recommend working with this company unless you are comfortable chasing your own pay and dealing with unnecessary stress.I worked this job over three weeks ago and still haven’t received pay.
I worked for this “company” on 2/1/26, While I was on the job site I was warned that people were on strike and they weren’t being paid. I was told that I should reach out as soon as possible and ask about payroll information as well as on boarding. I immediately reached out to Lisa via Trusted Herd on 2/1, but have not heard back. I called the phone number listed on Trusted Herd, that phone number is disconnected. I called the phone number listed on the website, that phone number went to a Google voice mail - called twice. I tried to send a message via the website I received an error that that wouldn’t go through. I emailed info, no response. I tried to message on WhatsApp, I received a response that said to email Lisa- emailed that one - no response. I went onto message on Instagram, I see that they’re active posting on their stories, but no response. I’m now done more research and I see that several people are reporting that they have not been paid via Yelp, Trust Pilot , and Trusted Herd. I am now reporting to the Better Business Bureau, and the Texas workforce commission to file a claim for missing wages. This is disgusting. To have to jump through hoops just to get a response is absolutely ridiculous.

I hired Ruby Lemon to provide a helper/server for an event for 30 people- something I would normally do on my own, but I wanted to enjoy the party. I did all the food, decoration and drinks. They provided us with someone who had never served, did not take initiative with clearing plates, topping off glasses despite several conversations with Lisa. I had to teach the helper how to serve and direct her several times when things needed would have been obvious for someone with a little more experience. I felt bad for the lady, so helped her learn as much as possible. Then I learned they only pay the server half of what I was paying. This poor lady! I will not be hiring them again and would not suggest working for them.
Saw a random gig pop up for bartending at a wedding. Pay was low but I was promised tips. I looked up RubyLemon and saw all of the bad "I never got paid" reviews and talked to them about it. I was told that they got a new payroll system and everything is ok now so I decided to give them a try. There was no cell phone reception at the wedding so there was no way for me to clock in nor contact anyone. There was no one in charge, no "captain" or lead, no direction. Super disorganized. Some of the bartenders weren't RBS certified, which is illegal. We were only tipped by one person. The father of the bride said that he was going to tip us out via "the company".Bar setup was incomplete, unsanitary, and overall strange. We were stationed near a huge gas tank with a fence around it that had a "no smoking within 60 feet" sign on it. The wedding guests decided that this was the best place to smoke: leaning on the wooden fence in front of the tank. There were also two propane heaters nearby. People kept turning the gas up all the way to try to get them to turn on but not igniting them. I didn't see "fire safety" listed in the job description but it was necessary for me to control the situation for the safety of all. I was never paid what I was promised, nor any tips. Neither were the bartenders I worked with. Don't waste your time. The rumors are true.
