Review Time
My first experience with Rugged Books was a test, I purchased one of the least expensive items on their site, an old refurb getac v110 g4 for my brother who works a rough and dirty blue collar job, the kind that has him buying a new phone every other month.
He has absolutely loved the laptop so far, and it's survived so that speaks for itself!
The prices on Rugged Books are very competitive, you can maybe find some of the upgrades for less, but for the time you'll spend, it's easier to pay a little more and just have it show up ready to go.
I only ordered a soft handle and screen protector... the screen protector had a few tiny bubbles, but I'd give it a 95% positive... the handle is a little flimsy with it's connectors but that's not rugged books fault. However the tiny screws used to fasten the handle were slightly wallowed and one had its threads a little crossed. Those things are a pain to get just right and if you're using power tools, it can easily damage them. Still, 90% for that part.
I only know this because I was so pleased with the v110g4 that I bought a v110g6 for myself not even a week later! and swapped out the handle. Screen protector though? It's not easy finding one that fits this size of screen! So again, definitely would have been worth the price to have Rugged Books send it already done. Oh! The batteries on the g4 were great, despite being used with a warning they may not hold charge. The g6 loses charge quite a bit faster. I can't speak to the quality of the chinese knockoff batts but they cost half of the OEM ones sold by Rugged Books. Just an option if you end up with lifeless batts after gambling on the used ones to save money. Rugged Books had decently fast shipping, not Amazon speed but that's fine. It arrived well packaged through DHL Express, the first time I've ever used them before, and I have nothing bad to say about that!! That's about all I can think to say at this point. I'm a happy customer. Maybe I'll be mad if they break in less than a year, but as far as Rugged Books goes, it's a legit business with competitive prices and I'd use them again!

Finding a fitting screen protector can be challenging, so it might have been worth it to have it pre-installed. The battery life on the older model was good, despite warnings, while the newer one drains faster. I can't comment on the quality of cheaper batteries but they are an option if needed. Shipping was reasonably fast, not as quick as some services, but well-packaged. Overall, I'm a happy customer and would consider using this service again.
This service built my device and delivered it ahead of the expected date. Prompt assistance and a solid build quality. I've been using it for a few days and am satisfied with its performance for programming tasks. I would definitely choose them again.
I reached out for assistance and sent an email detailing my needs. I was told they would respond the next day, but after a week, I still hadn’t heard back. I followed up via email but received no reply. Customer service seems to be an area needing improvement.
