At the time of booking the parent company had only just taken over Shamrock holidays and the staff were woefully lacking in knowledge of the Shamrock product and even where the island of Ireland was located. Whilst not a offering inclusive packages, the company does have access to preferential fares with ferry companies from the UK to the Irish Republic. Sadly, when I requested details they kept quoting information about Red Funnel Ferries to the Isle of Wight. They obviously had no idea where or what Ireland is. The manager tried to make out the error was down to one person's product knowledge, but I had spoken and emailed at least three different people. Imagine my annoyance after booking a property and arranging my independent flights to received an invitation to book preferential ferries with my booking confirmation. Staff training in product knowledge is sadly lacking.
