I've booked through Shamrock Cottages several times before, and the houses have always been excellent. The price, quality, and service were all great.This time there was a minor booking issue, but it was resolved quickly and to our complete satisfaction. I will definitely visit Shamrock Cottages again when booking my next trip to Ireland.
Great choice of cottages. Good site , plenty of details and photos. Easy to navigate and book. Received regular updates with tips etc for booking in. Put in contact with owners , used email options , closer to arrival time. All angles seem to be covered. Didn't need to contact company, as all was very accurate and acceptable. Was contacted prior to arrival by owners son who gave arrival instructions. Arrived. Met owner. Was taken to property. Shown around and advised of a few quirks of the property. All good. Everything important was clearly labelled. Followed instructions , no dramas. Property location was superb. So quiet. Contacted prior to leaving about departure. All good. No dramas. If any issues owner , son or other contacts present. So never going to be any dramas. WiFi great. House has extensions , no drop in signal. All mod cons present. Enjoyed stay. Would be back.
Be aware if you have to cancel months in advance,you need to wait and see if accommodation is rebooked on the dates you chose,only then will you receive one third of you're deposit back,this is a disappointment as other company's like booking.com or vibro refund immediately.Dog cost are excessively high,be aware to check with vets the cost before booking!also complications of needing a vet check on the way home!
The property is not well maintained and was filthy. Also an elderly lady let herself in to the property while we were on the walk. Thankfully two people from our party stayed behind so none of our personal belongings went missing. Furthermore the owner accused us of damage we did not do. However Achill island is truly beautiful and is well worth visiting.
