From start to finish my rental process was excellent. When my flight landed early, there was no delay getting me a car ahead of my scheduled booking time. The return process was quick and easy and everyone I spoke to was helpful. I would definitely rent from Sixt again.
A very positive experience in Fuerteventura airport. The app allows pre check in, which meant I got the keys quicker, the price was competitive and the queue at the check in desk was non existent. The rep (Julian) was not overly pushy when I explained that I had my own private excess insurance and the deposit was reasonable and released quickly on return of the car. Very happy with this experience.
Overall, an excellent experience. Soufiane and Nazem are truly outstanding β polished, attentive and a real credit to the branch. The vehicle was superb and the service handled with effortless professionalism.
My only slight concern is the pricing, which feels somewhat high, particularly as a loyal, long-standing customer.
Please be aware there are scammers. I have booked a car with them and when I go to the reception, they said I did not pass the checks and they will refund the money in a couple of days. After months of trying to get my money back. they reply that I never show up for the booking and they refuse to pay the money back. I had to open a case against them and take them to court in order to recover my money.
Booked my car in the UK and paid in full, when i got to Denver the lady in collections took my phone and selected a Toll package, she did ask and i declined but i was still charged,
currently trying to sort this out but they are unable to do this simple task, if they check the cameras they will see & hear the conversation and the lady using my phone,
I had a great experience with SIXT Car Rental in Portugal. The staff are very friendly and professional, and the service is quick and efficient. They are easy to communicate with whenever thereβs a problem, and they resolve issues promptly without any hassle.
What impressed me most is how focused they are on customer satisfaction. They make an effort to keep customers happy by resolving concerns quickly.

Personally, I have had nothing but good experiences when using Sixt Glasgow Airport (which has been every couple of months for the last 3-4 years). Always friendly and informative, provide great upgrade options and flexible with pickup timing when any issues with flights. Very satisfied with their service.
Warning to customers: If their system crashes, do NOT trust the staff's verbal promise that the price remains the same. Read the contract before signing, even if they rush you. I was promised my original rate (Β£231) verbally, but the 'system error' rebooking silently raised my rate to Β£368. The manager refused to honor the staff's verbal promise. Take photos of everything and trust nothing they say.
I am extremely disappointed with Sixt and their post-rental practices.
After returning a rental in good condition, Sixt falsely accused us of causing damage and attempted to invoice β¬1,800 for repairs. We have video evidence clearly showing that the damage was not caused by us, yet Sixt proceeded regardless.
What is most concerning is the pressure-driven and opaque way this claim has been handled. We were encouraged to upload evidence into their internal portal, which appears designed to control the narrative rather than fairly assess disputes. Given the circumstances, we are pursuing this matter formally and legally instead.
This experience strongly suggests a pattern of raising questionable damage claims, likely relying on customers paying out of convenience or fear rather than merit.
I would urge anyone renting from Sixt to:
Take extensive video evidence before and after rental
Be prepared to challenge any claims robustly
Think twice before trusting their damage assessment process
This has been a stressful, time-consuming, and entirely avoidable experience.
Given the seriousness of this matter, we are now taking legal action against Sixt to formally challenge this claim and ensure this conduct is properly examined.
