I booked a reservation months in advance to save money parking near JFK. My total with SpotHero was $120 for my multi-day trip. When I arrived at the parking lot, I was informed that they were fully booked and that SpotHero lets you reserve spots that don't actually exist. It's a possibility that the lot is at fault too, as this reservation had been in place for ages, but it seems from other reviews like this is a common SpotHero problem. I struggled to find parking, almost missed my flight, and ended up parking directly at the terminal for $412. It was an incredibly stressful AND expensive experience. I'd definitely recommend always booking directly with the parking lot/garage.
Yesterday I made a reservation on Sporthero for a garage at 301 Elizabeth St. in Manhattan. I gave them my car make & Model and the price was quoted. When I got to the garage (Select Garages) the attendant immediately said there will be an additional $15 charge for a luxury car (It's a 2023 Tesla Model S). I said they didn't mention that when I booked and he said if I don't pay, he can't take the car. The $15 was 50% more than what I thought I was paying. I don't believe this was legit. I got scammed by the attendant.
I went to the Lansberg parking lot #416 at 425 D St NW WASHINGTON DC. My Suburban had a tight squeeze and their entry gate knocked off a piece of bumper trim. Our reservation was 10-2 but we returned to the pedestrian entrance about 10 minutes late and our pass was unable to open the door. We finally got the car to the exit at 2:25 where we couldn’t get out without paying an additional absurd $11 over our initial $17 reservation fee. ie $11 for 25 minutes which included delays in entering the building.
The first time I used spothero I was in Chicago, the spot was impossible to find/didn't exist. This week in DC paid for three days parking for my son to visit with us. He was told lot was locked between 8pm and 7am. He's in the military and this would not work with him being at work.
Stupidly, we tried to get a Saturday evening parking reservation during that same weekend only to be told the parking was full and we're told by the Hilton valet "spothero would refund us". We rushed to find other parking before our dinner reservation. By the time we got a chance to go the spothero website to request a refund it stated it was more than 0.20 hours after the reservation starters and not eligible for refund.
Working on disputing chargers with credit card and will never use spothero again.
I had an issue using my code to a parking gate to lift. One call to SpotHero customer service solved the issue for me within minutes. Very good support and quick response answering the call.
I used this app 3 times in the last 9 days and love it. downtown LA is impossible to find parking and the price is ridiculous. Spot Hero finds you the best deals show you the closet parking to the area you are going, customer service has always been great if any issues.
Now i can go places and make my parking reservations in advance.
I encountered a double charge, first by the service and then again by the garage (not intentionally, but due to a misunderstanding as the garage attendant had limited English). The service promptly agreed to refund me for the garage charge.
I left early and attempted to change my time for a refund, but the app was malfunctioning and wouldn't allow me to make adjustments. Now, the service claims I can't receive a refund because I didn't modify the time before my reservation ended. I did try, and it feels quite convenient for them that their app was having issues.
The parking facility did not fulfill my reservation, claiming my vehicle was too large even though I provided correct vehicle details and paid an additional fee. Multiple attempts to reach the support team resulted in being on hold for over 20 minutes without any response. Disappointing experience.
I encountered a major issue when the garage locked my car inside. I arrived at 6:54 and had the spot until 7. When I requested a refund for today and parking for the next day, given that I couldn't retrieve my car, I dealt with an unpleasant representative who dismissed my concerns. He absurdly claimed that arriving at 6:54 meant I wouldn't have time to get my car out, even though I could see it. I insisted on a refund and mentioned I would leave my car until the next day since I work nearby, but he threatened that they would charge me more for that. It felt like he was just trying to make things worse for someone already stressed. I will never use this service again and believe this interaction should be reviewed. When I asked for a manager, he claimed there wasn't one available. It was honestly unbelievable. This call took place at 8:15 PST on January 13th, so it should be easy to trace.
