Review Time
SCAM/FRAUD. I cancelled my subscription a long time ago, but charges continued to be taken from my card. When I contacted support to ask why I was being charged, they claimed my card details were linked to an email address. THAT EMAIL ADDRESS WAS NOT MINE. I requested cancellation and a full refund. After that, they stopped responding. Carol from skillshare
has not replied for several days.
They did not give me a ticket number.
The classes are elementary and not very comprehensive. I did the free trial and didn't learn much from the class, and then it auto-renewed for the YEAR. They refused to refund me, where most places provide a one time refund when this happens. I explained I am a struggling student but they don't care. So I'm out money I need with a shitty learning platform. Would not recommend.
I signed up for a one-month free trial, but was unexpectedly charged for a subscription after just 7 days. I have email proof of the advertised 'unlimited one-month free trial' and my sign-up date. Despite this, the support team refused to provide a refund, stating that I did not report the issue within 48 hours of the incorrect charge. Their '48-hour reporting' rule is irrelevant here, as the charge should not have happened during the free trial period. It feels unfair for me to bear the cost of their errors. I hope this decision not to refund is not backed by the company's senior management and investors; otherwise, I would be very disappointed, as this is the platform that claims to teach people about 'business.'
Disappointing Experience!
I recently purchased a one-year subscription, and it was functioning well initially. However, just two days later, I was unexpectedly logged out from all my devices. Now, I can't access my account on any device or through the app. It's been three days, and while I can log in with other email addresses, my registered one is blocked. Did I buy this subscription just to face such issues? Please either fix this or refund my money!
It's evident that they rely on scripted messages, similar to customer service. They suggest reaching out to support for help, but it’s ineffective. The courses themselves are decent, but be wary of potential pitfalls. Customer support never provides refunds under any circumstances; their assurances are just empty words.
Just want to warn people to check your spam and promotions folders. Skillshare emails get sent to everything but your primary folder. Even important information like when they are going to charge you for the yearly subscription or if your payment doesn't go through because your card has expired. Their policy keeps you from getting a refund so make sure to move any communication with them to your primary folder or check all of your e-mails. Also something I just learned is a thing, VAU. Visa and MasterCard will update your card information to subscriptions and to online contracts. You are automatically opted into this. Hope this helps and keeps this from happening to someone else.
The membership was advertised with a monthly fee after a one week free trial. They charged an annual fee. When I contacted them for a refund within 14 days from signing up (EU cool-off period), they said I can only get refund within 48 hours after the free trial ends. They seem to be desperate for money, so it feels like a ripoff.
All the 1 star reviews are for a reason. These guys really are unprofessional and customer service does not help you with refunds. For two years we were charged a full year's membership, so $330, without using their platform at all. We emailed them to refund and they will not refund the membership. The account was linked to an email where my husband stopped teaching three years ago! The school got him a free trial, which is a scam. Why make us pay for 365 more days of a digital platform we will not use?
So far it has been really good, I’ve learnt so much about filmmaking. I’ve been using Skillshare since last year and now I’m 20 years old. Still a student, I’m not working yet. So I use all my family members emails to open different free Skillshare accounts just so I can learn.
