They have not responded to my emails, and their phone number is not operational. This leads me to believe that the company may be operating as a scam.

As a medical student from Germany, I can confirm that all the negative reviews are accurate. This is a terrible scam. I found a book I had bought elsewhere advertised as free, but ended up paying a delivery charge. They charged my account $1 (which was refunded), but then I saw unexpected charges for a membership I never agreed to. I tried to cancel but was denied until I paid other fees. This company is operating illegally, and I have reported them to consumer protection.
This service is deceptive. They lure you in with a free book, then charge your account $1.00 and refund it to activate your membership, which costs $14.99 a month. I canceled immediately, as stated on their membership page, but ended up being charged a month later. I disputed it with my payment service and lost, as they claimed the transaction was processed correctly. They use cancellation processing to bypass disputes. I am now disputing with my bank. This company feels fraudulent!

If I could give a lower rating than 1 star, I would. Their strategy is to attract you with 'free textbooks', charge for shipping, and then cancel your order under vague policies while keeping your money. If you provide a credit card, report it lost or stolen to avoid this scam.
