Review Time
A Shift in StrategyThe company has changed its tactics, moving from blunt demands to a more subtle form of manipulation.Defensive Justification: The email opens with a lengthy, defensive explanation of the membership program. This is a new tactic designed to shift the blame, implying that your complaint is a result of your own "confusion" about the terms you agreed to. It's an attempt to prove their business model is legitimate, rather than addressing your specific concern about their unethical refund policy.Polished, But Unchanged, Demand: The core of the message is identical to the first email. The company explicitly states that "any compensation... would be finalized once we receive confirmation of your review deletion." The flimsy new justification—that it helps them "document resolution" and "uphold our commitment to quality"—is simply a more professional-sounding way to state their original, unacceptable condition. The False Invitation: The email’s request for you to "share any relevant details" and "let me know how you’d like to proceed" is a deceptive move. It creates a false sense of collaboration and choice. In reality, the company has already laid out the only path it will accept for a refund: removing your review. In short, the company is still refusing to process an unconditional refund. It has simply adopted more polished language to try and get you to comply without them having to acknowledge their unethical behavior. After I posted my initial review, a company representative contacted me to offer a full refund, but only on the condition that I deleted my review first. This is an unethical practice designed to suppress honest feedback. In response, I informed them that their demand violated the FTC's Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA) and Trustpilot's own rules. Instead of admitting their error, the company sent another email doubling down on their demand, claiming that deleting the review was a "necessary step" to receive my money. This entire experience has shown me that this company is not only willing to use deceptive and potentially illegal tactics to silence its critics, but it is also unwilling to take responsibility for its actions until faced with the threat of legal action. This review is now a permanent record of their behavior.Final Verdict: Do not trust this company. They do not earn good reviews; they attempt to buy them.I have reported them to the FTC and considering going further.Amendment: Company Continues Deceptive PracticesIn response to my email citing these laws, the company doubled down on their demand. They completely ignored my legal arguments and repeated that the review deletion was a "necessary step to proceed with the transfer," falsely claiming it was a matter of policy to prevent "unfairly affect[ing] our brand's reputation."This latest communication confirms their deceptive intent. They are not only using illegal tactics, but they are also unwilling to admit it, instead clinging to a flawed and manipulative justification. As of today, the promised refund has still not appeared on my account. This company not only uses unethical and potentially illegal tactics to silence critics, but it also fails to follow through on its promises, even when confronted with legal facts. I'm sharing this to warn others: a business that operates this way cannot be trusted.
