StepChange have been amazing so far with helping me to deal with my debts. They have been very helpful anytime I had a problem and are always ever so friendly. You're never felt like you're being judged, or criticised. They genuinely want to help you.
The only problem I have is wishing I had contacted and got help with them sooner instead of leaving it. I was too scared and overwhelmed to even think of looking for help.
In the end I bit the bullet and contacted them, set up my DMP and I am so glad I did. The future is looking debt free and stress free!

I kept looking at Step Change for couple of years, reading the website, giving up as I didn’t think it would make any difference. But desperation made me sign up. Three and half years later, I am one month from being debt free, for the first time in my adult life. If, like me, you are not keen on phone calls, you can set up everything online and you can keep in touch with emails. It is so good to see the balance reduce. You can set your budget and change it if your circumstances change.
Follow StepChange advice and keep in touch with creditors as that was the interest will stop sooner. I was not good at that, but any time I emailed (and called twice), the creditors were understanding and had nothing to say knowing I was on a plan with StepChange.
From next month, I can start living my life, learn to drive, buy a new sofa (been sitting on a broken sofa for three years) and maybe start saving for the first time in my life.
I have recently completed a considerable repayment policy which has been ongoing for a number of years with Stepchange.I cannot rate their support and guidance highly enough.Always kind,non judgmental and supportive-I have been able to change my life round with them by my side-forever grateful.
I have been waiting for a response to multiple emails I sent six weeks ago; the service simply does not reply. They are collecting my payments but not distributing any to my creditors, forcing me to pay them myself to avoid legal threats, in addition to making monthly payments to the service. Several creditors are reaching out to me, and when I mention the service, they state they haven't received any communication from them and advise me to have them get in touch to sort it out. I have emailed them again, but there has been no reply.
Step Change Debt Charity, helped me to stabilize my debts and arranged payments to each creditor by setting up one direct debit, which they distributed.It took a lot of weight off my shoulders and I can't thank them enough and would recommend anyone in financial difficulties to get in tough with them.
What can I say other than what an amazing company, I found myself in over £5000 in debt due to various reasons, letters and phone calls were coming on every day. I felt I had nowhere to turn.
