Liam, your response from Stonewater. Can you answer just two questions. If you where a tenant of Stonewater and thay where trying to make you pay for something (service charge) for a non-existing service, Even after you warned them 3 times.what would be your response???. I classified it as theft, as stonewater management is fully well aware off. Whats your response now. Now thair trying other meens, like hiking up a charge by 82%. IT'S ALSO WORTH REMEMBERING THAT A TENANT IS LIGALY ABLIGED TO PAY SERVICES CHARGE. ON THAT BASES AS WELL AS THEIFT IT COMES WITH MENICES LIKE COURT ACTION ETC.
Here we go again it's the silly season at stonewater. The time of sending out new high-rise service charges. I am now going to throw a spanner in the works, some of you like myself have been blaming the service charge department at stonewater for the rises in our charges, but that only half the story. Let me explain. The contract for any work goes out to tender supposedly the one that gives the best value, win's. But this value is for an erea or whole blocks of rented units. But in that lies the problem. What might seem good on the service a lot of bad stuff is happening. Just take a look at your emergency lighting etc, if like ours it's gone up a whopping 82% from this April. But please remember this is on top of last year's rise of over 60%.also it's worth keeping in mind that this is compounded price rises year on year. This is truly rip off Britain at its finest. We all need to do are bit and get this stopped.
Where do I start?
Firstly, we had to wait 5 months after saying yes to the property to be able to move in due to having to make it suitable for us to live in. When we moved in the place was covered in mold and smelled of urine everywhere we have tried everything to get the place to look and smell nice.
We got given a ground flat with a shower room which was covered in mould and the lineal was cut and filling up with dirty stinking water. Every time we tried to take a shower the whole room would fill with water which ended up leading out into the hallways which I wrecked the new flooring. We had reported this and the staff member on the phone was very rude and said if we are not disabled then it’s not really an issue that needs to be quickly resolved we have been givin a date for someone body to come out which in a months time. We also reported the shower was hanging of the wall and spraying out water and according to stone water it is no an issue. The doors in every room are damaged and it’s our responsibility to replace them. Our front door doesn’t shut properly as it has been previously kicked in by the recent tenant before us and none seems to care that is unsafe. The windows in every room don’t shut properly or the handles of the windows are falling off. I think this is absolutely disgusting expecting us to pay our rent on time but won’t resolve the issue. You need to sort your so called charity out this is outrageous!!!!
I was in contact with Adrian, he went above and beyond as we were waiting for our home preparation. Kept checking in with us and very prompt with responses! Always kind and helpful. Thank you :)
I cannot express how terrible this housing association is. I have sent three emails to the complaints department and have yet to receive any response. They show no concern for their tenants at all. I am now reaching out to a legal professional. EDIT: It would be wise for them to get in touch with me, as I am serious about involving legal assistance.
I contacted the service twice in one day regarding a blocked drain. Initially, my mother reported it as a blocked sink pipe, and they quoted $100 for the repair, which was completely inaccurate since I was present. On the second call, a representative came out and stated it wasn't a sink issue but a drainage problem, and he could do nothing. Later, when my mother called again, they claimed a sink blockage had been reported twice, which is untrue. My parents pay sewer charges, so where is that money going if they refuse to address the issue? The local sewer system has been deemed inadequate for years, and this service is incredibly frustrating.
I recently spoke with a representative who guided me through applications for various helpful grants. They made me feel completely at ease, especially as I struggle with high anxiety and mental health challenges during these stressful times. I am truly amazed by their kindness and willingness to work at my pace, and I appreciate the extra effort they put in for me. This experience has not only restored my faith in people but also in my housing association. I can't thank you enough for your support.
I provided the required 28 days' notice to vacate from December 18th to January 8th, 2026. However, I received a letter stating my termination would be effective from December 3rd, coinciding with my rent due date. Had I given just two weeks' notice, I would have faced an additional week of rent. It’s challenging for me to clear out and pack due to my health issues, including osteoarthritis and scoliosis, at the age of 73. Is there a contact number for assistance? I cannot lift boxes or anything over 6 pounds. I believe the company should consider my situation after enduring years of verbal abuse. Thank you, Christine.
I am very satisfied with the support provided by a representative in the new homes team. They kept in touch and worked hard to ensure we completed our shared ownership property in time for Christmas. I’m truly grateful for all the help and can’t wait to move into our new home. Thank you for everything!
