The hiring process itself was straightforward: the item arrived on time and was useful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
When my hire period ended, I called to arrange a return and explained I needed the item longer but planned to buy a cheaper alternative. I was told I could purchase the hired item and later sell it back through StrideOn’s buy-back scheme for £50–£70. Based on that information, I agreed to convert my hire to a purchase.
A few months later, when I contacted them to use the buy-back (the item had mostly been unused in its box), I was told the scheme was no longer running. After I explained that this was the sole reason I had purchased the item, they agreed to reconsider. However, once they received it, I was informed the item was damaged, rusty, and dirty, and they would only offer £20. While I accepted a deduction for dirty wheels, the alleged damage was inaccurate—the item was in the same condition as when I originally received it. My request for reconsideration was declined.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I feel the buy-back scheme was used to upsell the product, only to later reduce the payout with questionable claims. I would strongly advise others not to be upsold after hiring.

A huge thank you for the rental of the brilliant knee scooter!. From my initial phone call to Strideon I have had nothing but friendly advice. The Scooter was very easy to assemble with great instructions and it has been totally invaluable for the two weeks I was non weight bearing after a tendon reconstruction surgery. What an amazing piece of equipment. It gave my husband the freedom to get out and about without having to rely on crutches as his operation was non-weight bearing. The stride-on was so convenient. This company and their StrideOn product are both first-rate. I rented one after ankle fusion surgery and found it superior to both crutches and an iWalk (as the latter requires you to have excellent balance). It's easy to assemble and advice about doing so can be obtained by phone/email if any problems are encountered. A big advantage is that it can leave you with at least one hand free. So I was, for example, able to cook in the kitchen and shop locally unassisted because of this. Almost needless to say, the staff I have spoken to have all been friendly and solicitous. And so when the time comes to return the scooter, I'm actually going to miss it. Many thanks to whoever designed this product. You are making a real difference to people's lives.
Excellent to be dealing with a firm who have knowledgeable people available to deal with any questions. Arrangement of delivery and pick up of equipment was seamless. Strideon scooter was great and made the frustrations of ankle surgery that bit more bearable.
I was so thrilled with my StrideOn. I opted for the indoor option as it is quite hilly where I live. The StrideOn made me feel less of a patient as I could be useful in the kitchen rather than with crutches you cannot carry anything. The little basket on the front was helpful and I was soon whizzing around the kitchen! Service and delivery excellent too, thank you!!
Cannot recommend this company enough. From first point of contact and throughout the whole process I received excellent service from the whole team and they were so helpful. I was nwb for 6 weeks and hired 2 knee scooters, one for upstairs and one for downstairs for the whole period. They were an absolute godsend and gave me so much independence and confidence to move around. Loved them!
