From my experience most people are on Tandem for dating purposes not really longing to grow their language skills. Ils always start with a few promising chat however when it comes to setting an appointment other the phone people do not show up. I had tried Tandem a few years back and it was the same.
Want to offset some of the positive reviews that Tandem is prompting people to write via their app. They deleted my account claiming I violated their policies and when emailed for clarification, one of their reps sent an incredibly nasty message just saying there was a rule violation, and that their decision was final and I wouldn't be getting a refund. I had to contact Apple and then my credit card company for a refund for the yearly fee. Incredibly poor customer service. I have a right to know why I was banned so that I can improve my behavior or dispute the other user's claims. Does someone really deserve to be cut off from 1 million other users because they have a disagreement with 1 user? Hope this app and the company behind it goes out of business.
