The ski gloves I purchased did not meet expectations. After using them only four times over 20 months (maximum of four weeks), the thumbs quickly showed wear and the stitching began to unravel. Despite claims of durability, the product clearly fell short. When I reached out to the company, they stated that nothing could be done since the one-year warranty had expired and they did not respond to my follow-up emails. Based on my experience, their products do not reflect the advertised quality, and they seem unwilling to assist long-term customers, giving the impression of a tick-box approach.
My Extremities ski gloves weren't up to standard - used 4 times in 20 months (4 weeks max), but thumbs soon worn through and the stitching came apart. The gloves clearly weren't up to the task, despite being advertised as such. Terra Nova just said that they couldn't do anything as the 12 months warranty had expired. They didn't respond to further emails. In my experience, their equipment isn't up to the advertised quality and they just don't want to help long-term customers - a tick-box culture, it seems.
While diligently searching for a new tent, I got excellent guidance straight from Terra Nova. I ended up purchasing the ideal tent that suits me perfectly—a high-quality, four-season model that offers great value. Extremely satisfied with both the service and the tent.
Recently purchased the Extremities Contact Insulated Waterproof Power Liner Glove - X-ECO Features, in preparation for UK winter. Current temp approx 3 degrees. Very disappointed with thermal performance. Could immediately feel cold air penetrate gloves. Hands didn't warm up. Very disappointed.🔍
Terra Nova is an established brand but one I have no previous experience of. I purchased a Southern cross 1 - 4 season tent and tested it out almost straight away on the windy Brecons, picking an exposed area near Cribyn. Extremely sturdy, easy to pitch and take down. No concerns whatsoever.Company and service seems great.
A few weeks ago, I ordered the "Southern Cross 2" tent directly from Terra Nova from outside the UK. It arrived in perfect condition within a few days (note: customs duties apply), so it's super fast and reliable.Immediately afterward, I tested the tent, which I already knew from a friend, for a week in wind and rain on the Danish Baltic Sea during a sea kayaking trip. It's a pretty perfect tent for kayaking (and other trips) with plenty of storage space in the two vestibules, although the inner tent only fits one person. The positive aspects are the low weight and pack volume, yet plenty of storage space, the good workmanship, the variable ventilation options, the wind-resistant stability, no flapping, and quick setup and takedown. It's not cheap, but it's worth the price. And the phone service was also excellent, despite the foreign language.
Been using terra nova tents for 30 years. Saved my life a few times. My 25 year old voyager finally gave up so I sent it for repair at the factory. Bad news was it was past repairing. Good news was they offered me an amazing deal on a new southern cross 2. They didn't have to do this so I was amazed and eternally thankfully. Looks like I will survive another winter.Amazing kit, amazing people. Made in my home county.Thanks.
I recently placed an order through the Terra Nova website and was really let down by the entire experience. I’m writing this review so others aren’t left in the same frustrating situation.I ordered a tent, received a confirmation email saying it had been processed and would ship shortly, and even sent a follow-up email asking about the delivery time - no response. After days of silence, I tried calling but couldn’t get through. It took six days to finally speak to someone, only to be told that the tent was never in stock - even though it was listed on the website and being sold at a discount. At no point was there any indication that the tent wasn’t available. Had I not chased them down myself, I’d still be waiting. No update, no delay notice, no apology. The whole situation has thrown off my planning for an upcoming trip. I spent weeks researching the right tent, built parts of my itinerary around it, and now I’ve lost a week waiting for a tent they knew they never had. To make things worse, the delay meant I missed major summer sales, so it’s cost me both time and money. While I appreciate that a refund is being processed, the lack of communication and transparency was incredibly disappointing.I’ve always been fond of Terra Nova and had only heard good things, which is why this experience was such a letdown. For a company built around reliability and adventure, clear communication and honest stock updates should be the bare minimum.
Quality of equipment is fantastic. Unfortunately I had to send back as unable to go on planned trip. Spoke to Gopi who has helped answer many questions for me and processed my refund with no delay. Best customer service I have received for many years. 10/10.
