I empathize with my daughter and her partner, who had the Sunday feast we gifted for her birthday. Unfortunately, they were let down. Many items from the buffet were unavailable, and the service was not up to the standards one would expect from such a venue. They left feeling dissatisfied. We had considered making a reservation for ourselves, but after this experience, we will not be returning.

A significant portion of the buffet was unavailable and the staff's performance was below expectations for an establishment of this standard. They left feeling dissatisfied. We were considering making a reservation for ourselves, but after this experience, we will not be returning.
What a letdown! We arrived at the establishment to celebrate a close friend's special birthday — a group of twelve eager to enjoy the evening. Instead, we were micromanaged from the start, as if we had violated some unspoken rules. The atmosphere was cold and controlling. When we finally reached the dining area, the staff appeared anxious, lacking any warmth or smiles throughout the night. Despite spending a considerable amount, we left feeling unwelcome. Unfortunately, this experience has also cost them our wider circle of family and friends.
While walking back from the nearby area, we decided to stop in for a quick drink and snack. The doorman ignored us, the bartender was unfriendly, and the maître d' was pompous and condescending. With a service charge of 14.5%, they seem to think highly of themselves, but in reality, it’s just an overpriced bar and restaurant. I won't be returning.
I have always had great experiences at this hotel. However, during a recent visit with my partner, we were denied entry for drinks due to claimed overcapacity. Yet, we noticed multiple guests being admitted after us. Although we were dressed appropriately, my partner's logo top might have been the issue. If that's the case, they should be upfront about it.
We attended the feast at a venue yesterday afternoon. The drinks area and music were enjoyable, and we had a couple of cocktails. However, the feast was quite disappointing and overpriced, especially with a substantial tip added. When I inquired about the vegetarian option, the chef merely pointed to the salad. To say I was let down would be an understatement. I am not willing to pay £130 for a buffet while standing in line with my plate. It’s unfortunate since we were looking forward to the experience.
I have experienced great stays at this hotel in the past. Unfortunately, my recent visit was marked by rudeness at check-in, despite available rooms and written confirmation of my entitlement to an upgrade. They outright refused and made every aspect of my stay as challenging as possible. I even recorded my departure to avoid being accused of theft, which I have never done before. To add insult to injury, I was hit with a credit card charge labeled as a 'tip,' which they refer to as an accommodation fee, hoping I wouldn’t notice. What a joke! Perhaps if they compensated their staff fairly, service would improve. This has been the worst experience out of 1000 nights in hotels over the past five years.
We spent nearly £1000 on food and drinks for a celebration and were turned away from another area, despite the venue being nearly empty. The manager was dismissive and refused us entry. We would have gladly spent more money, but now I will never return!
