An print purchased from an auction in Paris by my son was received by me in England. It was rather delicate, but was carefully packaged by Karim to ensure it was safe and did not slide around and arrived in perfect condition. Thank you, Karim.
There is a lack of competence. I paid for the retrieval, packing, and shipping of artwork purchased at auction, but they lost the package due to poor packing. Allegedly, they misplaced the box created in their own facility. Customer service was unhelpful and curt, stating I was out of luck since I didn’t purchase insurance. I requested documentation but received none. I had to contact the auction house for help, which seemed to get their attention. Overall, the service refunded their fees but I lost the artwork and its value due to mishandling. This is unacceptable; the size and value of items should not affect their treatment.
The shipping fee accounted for 25% of the total invoice. I attempted to contact the service from New Jersey but received a response from someone in Paris. I looked up the US office number in New York and never got a callback. This might be acceptable for high-value items, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything under $1000.
My package was stolen by the carrier, who forged my signature. I have video evidence of the entire incident, yet you claim I signed for it, even though my gallery was closed and I was at a hospital. Calling me a liar is both disrespectful and revolting.
