I find it frustrating not to be able to ring a person to assist with booking. Especially when I want 3 seats in a group of 4 and the computer programme will not let me buy the 3. this happened with my booking for the soccer. Fortunately there was on this occasion an alternative
Please understand, the show was absolutely fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed it.. the last time I saw it was in 1986 so I was really excited to see it again.. this was my children’s first ever broadway musical and it was important to me that they enjoyed the whole experience…. Unfortunately the weather didn’t help. This was my first outdoor show and probably my last…. The rain was torrential and got worse as the night went on.. Bu intermission we were completely soaked and freezing cold The only hot food available was hot chips and churros.. and by the time we finish those little shop selling rain ponchos was closed so we went back to our seats and continue to get more wet…. I do understand that you can’t control the weather and you can’t be held accountable for such an unfortunate occurrence. But I do think it would’ve been nice if the ponchos were handed out to the audience. We at least made available the whole time and not just in one location either. When you’re paying such a large price for tickets, the cheap ponchos could’ve been complimentary and handed to people when they show their tickets We tried public transport for getting to them from the event and due to Me being on crutches we had no choice but to catch taxis after the show the line for the free shuttle was so slow that we opted to swap blinds to catch more taxis in the pouring rainBeing my children’s first experience of a stage production it was most disappointing that this is the way I played out but once again nobody could control the weather And even with all the dramas of the night, my three children aged 25, 18 and 15 Told me that they absolutely loved the show itself and can’t wait to have Me take them to anotherThe cast was absolutely amazing and can’t fold them in anyway. I found it incredible that they kept their enthusiasm and energy considering they must’ve been just as soaked as we were Due to the weather 3/4 of the audience left during intermission which is so sad because even in the cold record the show was still worth staying to the very end It was the first time I saw and heard Cody Simpson sing. He was amazing and a true talent and did so well in the role of sky the other Performers were a true credit to the industry kept the show going despite the rain. They did have to change their shoes to sneakers though To avoid slipping over as I imagine the stage quite possibly have been slipperyAll in all it was an amazing night out and despite the unfortunate obstacles we had to face the casting crew put on production that was thoroughly enjoyable and will Be one Of the beautiful memorable moments I’ve shared with my children. I’m looking forward to the next show that I can share with them quite possibly Oliver or Annie I will just make sure the Next show is undercover or an indoor event. Thank you so much
Very disappointingly rain started early in the performance and became heavy and set in well before interval. No shelter anywhere so we were forced to abandon. As we were leaving fireworks we’re going off? I realise this is a risk with outdoor events but tickets are costly so I don’t think I would risk it again.
The line up was incredible, the acts were fantastic. The sound quality was a bit rubbish with Missy Higgins and John Butler. Also the premium section was so large that if you were sitting in the other section you could barely see the stage, let alone the performers. The stage crew were incredibly efficient. Every changeover was done faster than the time allocated. John Butler decided that making a pro-Palestine comment was a good idea to a mostly drunk crowd. Probably wasn’t the smartest move considering he would have no way of gauging who was in the audience. Otherwise a great day. The impromptu aerial display at the beginning of Missy Higgins’ set was a winner.
