Review Time
No one likes the bate and switch. I'm just trying this out and the website said try for free. When the full transcript was ready, it said I owed $0.75 to get the download. No one wants to pay for something they can't trial. I decided not to spend the money and try some alternatives, and it came back with a 7 day free trail. I still had to enter my credit card number. We'll see how the product is... but this has rubbed me the wrong way.
I don't like it when you force me to leave a review to have access to the service that I just PAID you for. You say that you will remove the blockage when I have left a review. It is not honest. Do not trust reviews from this website.
They say it's free. Then after waiting for the audio to transcribe you have to pay. then when you pay they automatically add all these "extras" that cost money and finally before i can even get my transcription they force you to write a review!!
UI is pretty good, although the free service is asking me to write a review before I can even see the product they're asking me to review, also used a slew of other marketing hacks to get me to pony up more money so.
The use was quick and easy, very intuitive. I like the free trial so I know what I'm getting before I commit. The pricing seems reasonable but the transcript accuracy is not good
I thought it was great that I could get a transcript of a 2 hour long video for USD $0.75. I should have known that if it looked too good to be true that it probably wasn't true.
First, they charged me 3 times. $0.82 for storage, $0.80 for "24/7 Support", and $0.75 for the actual transcript.
Then, the entire transcript was only the first few seconds of the video.
I'll be requesting a refund of the $2.37 they charged me.
And then to rub salt into the wound, after I sent them a message for them to refund the charges, I noticed I had, without knowing it, signed up a subscription service, which I promptly cancelled.
They required me to include a payment method to access my transcript, and then even with a free trial they won't allow me to even look at the transcript unless I leave a review. This is a horrible service as-is.
I would recommend letting users use one free transcript, and if they like it and want to use it again, they could pay like $1 each time or do a subscription. But this method is just so scammy.
"Waiting for your review We'll automatically close this message as soon as we detect your review. Thank you for your help." - REQUIRED TO LEAVE REVIEW TO ACCESS TRANSCRIPTION THAT I PAID FOR. I don't think this is an ethical way to request reviews. Also, once you have the recording, you cannot select all to copy and paste.
It's interesting that I have to give a review before you'll review the view screen to get to my download. How can I review your product and service if I can't get to your product and service without having to first write this review. Weird way to get a review.
