We booked our Route 66 trip through the service in October, investing thousands of pounds that we had saved for quite some time. Unfortunately, several of the hotels they arranged for us were utterly unacceptable and felt unsafe. These were not budget accommodations as part of a compromise, but rather cheap motels with consistently poor online reviews, significant safety concerns, and extremely undesirable surroundings. One property featured: • Visible sex work occurring on site • Drug use apparent around the premises • Guests wearing monitoring devices • Bullet-proof glass at the reception, where check-in occurred through a partition – clearly indicating a hazardous location At another hotel, the doors appeared to have been forcibly breached before, and we genuinely feared for our safety. Consequently, we had to book and pay for two alternative hotels ourselves, solely to ensure our wellbeing. Despite taking a significant amount from us, the service seems to have prioritized profit over basic safety and quality, placing us in accommodations with low ratings and dreadful reviews that were easily found prior to booking. We have repeatedly contacted the support team via email and phone. We were told to wait 28 days for a response, during which they suggested we were exaggerating or lying until we provided photographic proof. Once the evidence was submitted, all communication ceased. This experience has been incredibly distressing and has marred what should have been a once-in-a-lifetime journey. We will not let this issue go and are now escalating our complaint to the relevant authorities. Steer clear of this company. Their communication is appalling, their response to complaints is dismissive, and they take your money only to place you in subpar, unsafe accommodations and then ignore you. Truly shocking from beginning to end.
