I attended the singles event held at the Penta Hotel in Reading and I can honestly say what an enjoyable evening it was. Myself & my friends were nervous as we’d never been to anything like this before,but the host Shane made everyone feel so relaxed & comfortable,we will definitely attend more singles evenings as we all really enjoyed it. Surprisingly fun night.Way better than I expected!I went to a speed dating event in London last Friday after a friend basically forced me to book it with her. I wasn’t expecting much (I’ve tried dating apps for years and they’re exhausting), but honestly I had such a good time.The venue was a bar near Liverpool Street, really relaxed vibe, not awkward like I’d imagined. The host was friendly and actually quite funny, which helped calm everyone down at the start. You get about 4 minutes per date, which sounds short but is actually enough to figure out if you click with someone.There were around 15 guys there (I’m 29), and I’d say a good mix of careers and personalities, not just “finance bros” like I feared 😂 Everyone seemed genuinely there to meet someone, not mess around.I matched with two people and I’ve already been on a second date with one of them, so fingers crossed!Even if nothing had come of it, I’d still say it was worth it for a different way to meet people. Way more natural than endless messaging on apps.Would definitely recommend if you’re bored of swiping.
honestly had a great time especially since it my first singles party and we weren’t sure what to expect. Imran had a great sense of humor and created a relaxed atmosphere, which helped break the ice. I ended up chatting with quite a few different people and really enjoyed the overall experience!
The standup singles party in south Kensington was such a cleaver idea. Comedy first, then chatting after, which made everything feel natural instead of forced. I was laughing half the night and somehow ended up having proper conversations too. Way better than the usual cringey dating setups.
I am very disappointed with the service. It seems to me that the hosts try to attract more men by advertising that there are only a few tickets left for males and that tickets for women are sold out. However, when I arrived, there were 17 women and only 6 men. This is the second time this has happened.On top of that, they advertised a complimentary glass of wine on arrival, but they only had three bottles available. By the time I arrived, there was no wine left.If I could, I would give 0 stars.
I went to the shoreditch event for my first ever speed dating thing and I was kinda nervous... but it was actually really well organised and the crowd surprised me in a good way. Didn't feel awkward like I imagined. I'd definitely book another one.
